Once a month, my friend and I will make a trip to town to run some errands. We usually go in the early morning to avoid the afternoon hot sun.
Passed by this beautiful house on my way to pick up my friend. I love the beautiful plants and fence.
But there was once when we went in the afternoon and after we have finished our errands, we went to this little side stall at the side of a shop to have some desserts. I have heard about this place and wanted to try the desserts.
We can refer to the menu on the wall and choose what we want. The prices are printed on the menu.
We ordered a bowl of ice kacang (above pic.) and a bowl of tofu fa with red kidney beans and cendol (below pic.)
I like the tofu fa because of the toppings. At most places, the tofu fa does not have these toppings.
On my 2nd visit with my hubby and 3rd visit with a church friend, we ordered the same things. I thought I wanted to try something new but somehow ended up with the same order. I hope the next trip I go, I will remember to try something else.
For those interested, this Kedai Minuman Tai Soo No. 1 is at Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, Ipoh, facing Kedai Makanan Loke Wooi Kee (below pic.) which is across the road.

"Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks,
and send some to those who have nothing prepared.
This day is holy to our Lord.
Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
(Nehemiah 8:10, NIV)
Yum yum. Long time did not indulge in these sweet and cooling dessert. Great to be taken on warm afternoon.
ReplyDeleteIt is very refreshing!
DeleteI never come across tau fu far with toppings too. Love all the dessert & best taken during hot weather like now.
ReplyDeleteI find this tau fu far with toppings very special and I like it.
DeleteThe weather here is so hot now, nice to have it..
ReplyDeleteThe weather over here is very hot too.
DeleteLooks wonderful, something I have never come across.
ReplyDeleteHope you will get a chance to try this.
DeleteI love beans in any cool dessert. What is that stringy ingredient?
ReplyDeleteThe stringy ingredient is called cendol. Cendol is rice flour with green colouring, made by pressing the warm dough through a sieve into a container with cold water.
DeleteThe dessert looks yummy! And the flowers and fence scene is beautiful. Great post. Enjoy your day and the weekend ahead!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. Have a great week too!

DeleteYes, I like this śtall too but no proper shop only... Hope one day he get a nice shop now that he is quite famous....
ReplyDeleteClaire, now he has added another partition for seating. I too hope the boss will get a more comfortable place.
DeleteThat house is nice and has a very lovely fence. - The desserts you had a so very different from any dessert we eat here. I'm not sure I'd enjoy kidney beans in a dessert.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ida. Hmmm I enjoyed the kidney beans very much.
DeleteLovely homes to pass en route and dessert in the afternoon... Sounds like one fab day! :) T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tina. Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteLove the flowers on that fence, too.
~
I love the flowers too! Have a great weekend!
DeleteWonderful...and ES KACANG CENDONG my favorite...yummy..yummy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we both enjoy the same desserts!
DeleteI'm not sure I would like the desert because it looks a bit strange to me but I love some food that are totally strange to some, like poutine rapee. It's an Acadian dish with potatoes balls and pork inside. It's an acquired taste I think.
ReplyDeleteThat fence and the pretty flowers is so lovely. Such a pretty place. Have a nice weekend Nancy.
Hugs,
JB
Julia, sometimes after we have acquired the taste, we get to like the strange food. A happy weekend to you too!
DeleteThat cendol looks promising. Too often cendol are these fat too-green worms that just taste like flour without fragrance
ReplyDeleteOh Stacy, talking about green fat worms, I have a friend who refused to eat cendol because they look like worms! Ha ha ha!
Deletelooks nice and yummy. price seems cheap too! lucky you can have them so often.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Irvine. A great weekend to you!
DeleteGreat photos. I love that fence with all the flowers showing through. Happy Skywatch Friday. xx
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love the fence and all the flowers!
DeleteThat dessert could match what we call "halo-halo" here in the Philippines. It looks so yummy. Btw, I like that house you passed by with lots of plants and flowers, I thought it was yours. Just lovin' all your post! Glad I found you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lei. How nice if that house was mine!
