One afternoon we wanted to try something new and we went to Sweet and Tasty Food Court which is just next to the Main Convent School along Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Ipoh. We came to know about this place through my ex-colleague a few months back.
Day 1 - Lunch
Hubby ordered Prawn Noodle or Hokkien Mee. It came with a small saucer of sambal paste. Taste wise is good with additional sambal paste.
I wanted to try the Laksa Noodle but the stall was closed. So I ordered this Vermecilli Salad from the Thai Food Stall. It tasted slightly sourish, sweet and it is quite appetizing.
Day 2 - Lunch
This time the Laksa Stall was opened so I went to order my Assam Laksa. Then I was told that they also had Siamese Laksa. It has been a long time since I last tasted Siamese Laksa, so I decided to order the Siamese Laksa. Not easy to find Siamese Laksa in Ipoh. I like this.
Hubby ordered this Clear Soup Noodle with minced pork balls, meat balls, fish cake, egg and veggie.
Day 3 - Lunch
One Sunday, after church took my friend to the same place for lunch.
My friend's order - short rice noodle with stuffed tofu and bean curd sheet.
I transferred all the veggie onto my bowl of beef noodle. It was a big portion with many pieces of beef.
I have not tried all the food from every stall but this is a nice place to go to for a meal and fellowship.
It is quite a comfortable place and at normal days, it is not very crowded.
We went once in the morning at about 8 am but we found only 1 or 2 stalls opened for business. There was no customer in sight.
Nancy, everything looks so "ho chiak"! Especially the Vietnamese Beef Noodles, Spring Rolls and Vermicelli Salad.
ReplyDeleteI have not tasted the authentic Vietnamese food but I enjoyed the Vietnamese food here in this food court. It is "ho chiak!" he he...
DeleteAll looks so appetising. Like all of them especially the clear soup noodles.
ReplyDeleteSo far, whatever food we have tried here is okay!
DeleteImpressive again ...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Geraldine. Happy day to you!
DeleteLooks like you are eating your way through IPOH. Do people eat out every meal or do they also cook at home? I like the Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup and the soup your husband tried. I think I would like the food court because it is not too crowded. I digest my food better that way. Have a nice week. xx
ReplyDeleteJoyful, here in Ipoh, it is quite usual for people to eat out. This place is good and convenient for meeting up with friends over a meal. I too do not like crowded places.
DeleteA curious question, are you in the same church with Claire?
ReplyDeleteWe are from different churches but sometimes I will join Claire's church for Saturday night services.
DeleteIt all looks so appetising. The prawns looked amazing.
ReplyDeleteNice, fresh prawns!
DeleteGot RM2 shop? I'm happy with the RM5 (well now RM5.30 with GST) shop!
ReplyDeleteHeh Main Convent was my school.... definitely not so happening last time.
After GST, its RM2.12! Main Convent also my school!
DeleteWhat a nice name of the food court. I am drooling at your prawn noodle.
ReplyDeleteOohhh. Can plant more flowers with those new pots.
When I saw the pots, I was so excited. But the pots still sitting in the corner of the room.
DeleteEVERYTHING LOOKS YUMMY
ReplyDeleteThank you, Manisha.
DeleteYou sure have a large variety of meals in eating out. Do you have a wide variety of meals at home also? Oh, I love those nice big plant pots.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice comment on my blog.
Hugs,
JB
Thank you, Julia. Lately, I have not been cooking at home. We do have a wide variety of dishes even for home cooked meals. Hope I will get back to home cooking soon.
DeleteWhat is the difference between assam laksa and Siamese Laksa?
ReplyDeleteAssam laksa - no coconut milk or santan & no chopped salted radish (non lemak)
DeleteSiamese laksa - there is coconut milk and chopped salted radish (lemak)
