Chicken & Bean Sprout (Nga Choy Kai) At First Garden, Ipoh

I should have posted this a few months ago but I have totally forgotten about these photos hidden in one of the folders on my desktop. We passed by this area regularly and we noticed a new eatery has just started.
As it is always the case, everyone is curious and wanted to try new food at new places. We came here for our dinner.
A new place selling "nga choy kai" and noodles.
(Taugeh which is mung bean sprouts and chicken with noodles)
White chopped chicken - Poached chicken with oil and soy sauce.
Blanched mung bean sprouts with oil, soy sauce, pepper & etc.
Smashed onion green as a dipping sauce.
Something different from the usual ginger paste.
Flat rice noodle in plain soup - my favourite.
Hubby's favourite - yellow noodle + rice vermicelli.
Opened for business on 2 May 2015.
Restoran Taugeh Ayam Soo Kee
Lorong Taman Sepuluh, Taman Pertama, Ipoh.

But God has opened the eyes of those called to salvation,
both Jews and Gentile, to see that Christ
is the mighty power of God to save them;
Christ Himself is the center of
God's wise plan for their salvation.
(1 Corinthians 1:24, TLB)

  1. When a new place opens here, you pretty much have to stay away from it for a while. It's so crowded, you'll either have to wait two hours to be seated or there wont' be a seat at all and you'll have to get it to go. If you wait a few weeks, everyone's tried it out and the crowds go back to a normal level.

  6. A new eating place is always so fun....I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've never heard of blanched chicken...I have a thing about liking my meat brown....like when I roast a turkey, I like it a golden brown.

    1. Thank you, BJ. I too love golden brown, especially roasted or fried. Blanched chicken may not be everyone's liking because it looks plain and bland.

  7. Wow! Nga Choi Kei in my hometown....is it as nice as Lou Wong? I normally go to old town for it instead of other shops cause some of it are really just not as nice. From the looks of the photos, the food definitely is looking good. Any review on the taste?

    1. Hello Billy Toh, we prefer the nga choi kei in Buntong (related to Lou Wong) compared to Lou Wong. This one in Taman Pertama is okay, wouldn't mind going back.
