Recently, we have 2 newly opened supermarkets in our area. With these 2 supermarkets and the existing Billion, we need not have to go all the way to town for our shopping. Plus we can avoid the stress of traffic jam. How I spent my weekend.....
Friday evening
Last Friday evening, hubby and I went to get some provision at AEON Big while most people were preparing or having their dinner. I feel that this is the best time as there will be less crowd.
A sunset shot from the AEON parking lot.
Another sunset shot.
One end of AEON Big.
The rest of AEON Big building. It is called AEON MidTown Falim.
Saturday afternoon
Saw a flyer advertising the opening of Billion Mart.
We were curious so we went to take a look.
It is off the Silibin main road
It is located along Jalan Pusat Perniagaan Silibin 2 (Silibin Business Centre).
I have not been to this part of Silibin area before.
I have not been to this part of Silibin area before.
It was crowded and long queues at all the payment counters. We just walked one round and came out empty handed. The queues were too long and we didn't want to wait.
I took this snapshot of people queuing up for free tasting.
Sunday afternoon
After church worship service, we went to eat laksa at Falim, then went to visit AEON Big with my sister and friends.
Chinese New Year decoration in AEON Big.
In front of supermarket.
There is a food court on the top floor.
Might try out some of the food here on our next visit.
A giant mock Television at the Food Court. The kids were having fun inside the TV.
I spotted a mural which I have missed on my previous trip.

The purpose of my instruction is that all believers
would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart,
a clear conscience, and a genuine faith.
But some people have missed this whole point.
They have turned away from these things
and spend their time in meaningless discussions.

I still prefer when it was called Carrefour! Also Jusco instead of Aeon. I'm old school that way haha.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to have supermarts nearby.
Yes, I prefer it to be simple too. There was no Carrefour in Ipoh, it was just Jusco.
DeleteWhat a great supermarket.
ReplyDeleteI do like that mural too.
Thank you, Margaret. The mural looks real.
DeleteI like the mural. Your city seems to have so many lovely murals. I too don't like long queue to buy anything. I avoid them ;-) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. It isn't Friday here yet.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joyful. The murals are to brighten up the boring old walls. Have an enjoyable weekend!
DeleteI avoid long queues and crowds. Makes me think twice about buying anything! Happy weekend, Nancy! ^.^
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, I can never buy anything when there is any big time sales in supermarkets because of the crowds and long queues. Happy weekend to you too!
DeleteI love supemarkets and doing shopping there
ReplyDeleteHi Gosia, the part I enjoy most is taking our time to browse through the products on displayed and choosing what we want to buy.
DeleteIt always nice to have a supermarket close by, saves all the effort of travel. I am not of fan of crowds and queues though so I would need to find a quite time for my shopping.
ReplyDeleteYes, choosing a quiet time for our shopping takes off the stress. And it is easier to push our trolleys along too.
DeleteVery convenient if there is a supermarket near to the place we stay. Normally, I won't drop by if the supermarket is newly open, knowing very well the queue will be long, all kiasu, hahaha!!!..
ReplyDeleteFor those who knows about the pricing, they cashed in on the offer items. Most were loading their trolley to the brim!
DeleteExcelentes fotografias e bela reportagem.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim de semana.
Thank you, Francisco. Have a beautiful weekend!
DeleteI loves the CNY deco, so cute...
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, this is the 1st CNY decoration I took.
DeleteUsed to shop when people having their dinner. Less crowds. But now, no more. We did our grocery shopping early in morning before 10am as we have one hypermarket nearby which open 24hrs.
ReplyDeleteI like that giant tv. Kids can have some fun in there.
So nice to have a 24 hour hypermart. Can go anytime convenient to us.
DeleteI love the mural framed by the rustic wall
ReplyDeleteIt reminded me of some of the old buildings in the old town.
DeleteI tend to stay away from big super market especially at grand openings because they get over crowded and prefer the smaller stores anyway. I really detest large crowds and I can't shop when too many people are pressing all around me.
ReplyDeleteThe mural is incredible.
Hugs,
JB
Hi Julia, I am with you. Never like to be in a crowded place. Thank you and have a lovely weekend!
DeleteThe new Aeon Big buildings look huge. Seems like they invested a lot of money. Hopefully the population there will support them. Is Falim a new township?
ReplyDeleteThe supermarket section is fully operating but the other shops are not fully operating yet. I do hope they will be able to sustain. Falim is not new but this area is a newly developed one.
DeleteLooks like a very nice store. I'm sure you'll enjoy the food in the food court too. We have a food court in our mall here and it has some great selections in different types of food.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day Nancy. ☺
Thank you, Sandee. I hope the food in the food court will be to our liking. Have a fabulous day too!
DeleteI love this series of photos, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Have a beautiful day!
DeleteBeautiful sunset shots, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, William. Have a beautiful weekend!
DeleteThis looks lovely. The sunset looks amazing!
ReplyDeletewww.funmiwrites.com
Thank you, Funmi. Have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteYour sunset photos are beautiful. And I really like that mural!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marleen. I like the mural too.
DeleteFirst off, love those first shots, and I always enjoy seeing your country. Love seeing the places you see. And that mural is awesome...that motorcycle looks real!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose for enjoying the places I am showing through my blog. Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteI found here that around 7pm is when the stores go dead. Everything from 4pm to 6:30 pm or so is slammed as people get off work and rush in to get food. Unfortunately, by 7pm, I'm in my PJs and not going anywhere!
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie, over here its the other way around. After dinner around 8 pm is the time when most people will go out. It is especially so during the weekends! Our stores and supermarts close around 10 pm to 10.30 pm.
DeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteSomehow I couldn't shop well if the place is too crowded with people and long queues at checkout counters or freebies section. But can't avoid especially during festive seasons.
Enjoy your weekend ^-^!
Hi Nancy, for festival season when we can't totally avoid the crowds, I will try to go during cooking or dinner time where the place is less crowded.
DeleteNancy, it's so crowded now at Aeon over here! I don't like crowds and I prefer to stay home.
ReplyDeleteHi Phong Hong, looks like for the next 2 weeks the shopping complexes will all be very crowded with the last minute shopping. If I need to go I will choose odd hours especially around cooking or dinner time.
