Purple Jordan Fig Tree Growing In My Garden

I bought this fig tree, named Purple Jordan from the Fig Farm in Simpang Pulai about 8 months ago, in early April this year. I paid MYR 50 for this plant.

I googled and found that the fruit split open due to too much water from the rainy season.

I found another greener fruit also split open, so have to harvest it.

The deeper coloured fruit tasted sweeter than the green one.

Few days later, these were harvested. Most of the fruits also split open.

This fruit managed to ripen without splitting open. 

The Purple Jordan fig tree was very fruitful the first round.

Now most of the leaves have dropped. I have moved the pot away from the rain and hope it will survive and continue to be fruitful. I can see signs of new branches coming out.

For a branch can't produce fruit when severed from the vine.
