One morning I received a call from a friend informing me that she will be handing me the set of keys to her Cameron Highland apartment. We had earlier made arrangement for a short getaway as a group to Cameron Highland to escape the hot weather here and also to check out our friend's apartment. But somehow the plan to visit as a group didn't materialize as some were tied down with their own plans. So in the end only four of us went ahead with our own plan for a 2D1N stay in the highlands.
We started out early at about 7.30 am.
We chose the weekdays ahead of the long weekend holidays.
We had just celebrated our nation's National Day on 31st August.

We are slowly losing our beautiful limestone hills to the quarry industry.
Many of our limestone hills are fast disappearing.
We enjoyed a leisure drive up to Cameron Highlands.
Our first stop was at Green View Garden.
Greeted by these big red Amaryllis flowers at the car park.
Followed by these pretty bunch of light purple flowers.
Tiny Begonia flowers
Forgotten the name of this flower.
Lots of African daisies. Light pink.
Deep pink.
Deep pink surrounded by tiny yellow flowers.

This round, the weather in Cameron Highland was not as cold as expected.

This is the master bedroom with attached bathroom in our friend's apartment.
We had some fun time photo snapping with these cute smiley pillows. After having rested, we went out to look for something to eat.
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything;
tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers.
If you do this, you will experience God's peace,
which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.
His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet
and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

It s a real shame about your limestone hills. Is there some kind of environment protection agency there? The bedroom is awesome!! My favorite flowers are the light pink.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about the limestone protection but it is really a shame to see all the beautiful limestone hills disappearing. Have a great day!
DeleteI'm glad that you and some friends could get away together for a weekend break up in the cooler environment of the hills. What a pity that the area is being eroded by the quarry industry. It makes you appreciate what remains. Pretty flowers some with different names from what I know. Have a good new week!
ReplyDeleteYes, all the lovely hills are slowly disappearing one by one.
Deletehahaha..very cute cushions there... should I get those for my own house? hahaa
ReplyDeleteYes, very cute cushions. We went looking but those we saw were not as cute as these two cushions.
DeleteBeautiful flowers! Your friend is so generous to let you all stay at her apartment when she is not there. I thought you added two emoticons to the sofa without realising that they are real cushions. lolx! :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend rented the apartment to us for a minimal sum. The amount will contribute to the upkeep and cleaning up of the apartment.
DeleteNice pictures - its a shame about the quarries. I spent a few days in this this area many years ago, a remember there being a lot of tea growing.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M, Melbourne
Yes, there are tea plantations up in Cameron Highlands.
Delete...it looks like you had a colorful time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom! We never fail to visit and to enjoy the colourful flowers in the flower gardens.
DeleteGood of your friend to lend you the apartment and I do agree with you. A trip to highlands is good to avoid the heat and haze.
ReplyDeleteI also notice lesser green when travelling to the countryside. Limestone hills been used and some parts been constructed for development and road.
The hot weather seems to affect the weather in Cameron Highlands too, not very cold this visit.
DeleteLooks a lovely place and great photos of views and flowers. Happy week Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane! Have a happy new week!
DeleteBonitas fotos.
ReplyDeleteFeliz septiembre

DeleteWhat a lovely time for you and your friends and wonderful photos ~ area is fascinating!

DeleteSuch beautiful mountain scenery along the way, oh I see my favourite flower Daisy! I love flowers! They never fail to make me happy. I only been to Cameron Highlands once in 2013.
ReplyDeleteYour friend's apartment looks clean and comfy, oh same as Mun, I thought those cushions are emoticons LOL
I tried to grow Daisies in my garden once but they all died.
Deleteseems like a great getaway :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear! Yes, it is a great getaway!
DeleteIt's nice to have a getaway, i am so glad your friend is willing to let you use her apartment.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed our short getaway to the highlands.

ReplyDeleteYes, very kind and nice of our friend.
DeleteThank you, Francisco!
ReplyDeleteSiento tristeza por esas colinas que están desapareciendo. Las flores son preciosas. Besitos.
