The dish that draws us back to Restoran Hooray is their signature fried pork with pickled onions. Whenever we are at this restaurant, we always ended up ordering the pork with pickled onions dish. This round was no exception but for the other 2 dishes, we ask the boss to recommend something new which we haven't tried.
The boss recommended this purple brinjals (eggplants) with preserved vegetable.
The brinjals were deep fried and topped with preserved vegetables (mui choy) and gravy.
Another dish he recommeded was this - Stir fry fresh crunchy bamboo shoots slices, meat slices, mushrooms, wood fungus, carrots, etc.
And finally our favourite - fried pork with pickled onions.
These 3 dishes is more than enough for 4 seniors.

The following pictures are for joining Skywatch Friday.
At 7.20 pm one evening, we were blessed with this stunning sunset sky.
Even hubby was interested in taking a few pictures.
We were going out for dinner.
I have to get out of the car to take these snapshots.
At 7.30 pm on the opposite side of the sunset.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie! This is the first time I have tasted eggplant cooked this way.
DeleteWah they left the brinjals heads on. I think I will like the pork and onion dish too. The brinjal dish looks oily, I prefer lightly steamed brinjals. Mushroom and bamboo shoots dish is ok.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun! The brinjal dish is not really oily, it is just the gravy.
