The following photos were taken on our walk home after breakfast.
Flowers and leaves of the Elderberry plant by the roadside.
This is the common elderberry shrub with bright white flowers and small, dark berries. The fruits or flowers could cause allergy to some people. The uncooked parts of the plant contain the chemical lectin and cyanide, which can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Though poisonous, this plant has been used in folk medicine.
Leaves and fruits of the Noni plant by the roadside.
The juice of Noni is claimed to have medicinal benefits but people with kidney problems and those taking certain medications should avoid noni juice.
