Today, I am want to post about my Amaryllis red lily. I have almost given up hope on my Amaryllis lily plants because they were not doing well and haven't bloomed for a long, long time. I didn't have the heart to discard them, so I just left them be in the plastic planter with the other plants just outside my front gate. I will feed them with fertilizer and water them together with my other plants. Then just out of the blue, I noticed a flower stalk coming out from the soil and later the buds appeared and then the flowers. Finally, after being dormant for so long, it decided to bloom.

Amaryllis Red Lily & Antique Spiral Staircase
These spiral staircases can still be found in Ipoh old town especially the buildings along the Concubine Lane.
So Jacob left Beer-sheba and journeyed toward Haran.
That night, when he stopped to camp at sundown,
he found a rock for a headrest and lay down to sleep,
and dreamed that a staircase reached from earth to heaven,
and he saw the angels of God going up and down upon it.
At the top of the stairs stood the Lord. "I am Jehovah," he said,
"the God of Abraham, and of your father, Isaac.
The ground you are lying on is yours!
I will give it to you and to your descendants.
(Genesis 28:10-13, The Living Bible-TLB)

ReplyDeleteI had but I was holding tight onto the railing and very careful and slow with each step. Plus I dare not even look down or around me while doing so, just focusing on the steps.

DeleteSometimes flowers just appear for YOU!
ReplyDeleteThey like giving surprises.
DeleteAmaryllis flowers are so pretty! I usually see it in the late winter when they come up indoors. Outdoor ones would be good to have as I am allergic to them when indoors. I have a couple canna plants that are annuals. I was surprised they lived through the ice storm. I shook one out of pot to get rid of it. Saw there were stems coming up. I put it back in the pot. Cleared old leaves off it and the other one as well. Looking forward to the flowers. I need to transplant one as the pot is broken. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grandma Beckyl. Good thing your canna plant in the pot survived the ice storm. Have a wonderful weekend.
