This was last Friday. The weather is usually nice and cool in the morning, with a bit of sun and overcast sky for the rest of the day.
View of Kledang Hill taken on our morning walk at 7:15am.
Assam Laksa for breakfast at Yummy Food Garden in Menglembu.
Tasty and delicious assam laksa with lots of fish flakes.
Assam Laksa is only available on Fridays and Saturdays.
I went next door to buy water spinach (kangkong) seeds.
These are the types of seeds available.
Back home in my garden, lots of pretty flowers on the lime plant.

Dinner for 6 at Kopitiam Mun Soon, Taman Boon Bak, Ipoh.
Fried chicken (kon cheen kai).
Tofu in clay pot.
Fried salted egg mantis prawns.
Stinky beans with minced meat.
Their signature steamed Tilapia with spicy sour sauce.
The people shall no longer quote this proverb -
"Children pay for their fathers' sins."
For everyone shall die for his own sins -
the person eating sour grapes is the one
whose teeth are set on edge.
(Jeremiah 31:29-30, The Living Bible-TLB)
sumptuous meal! all the dishes very 'ngam' me.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nux.
DeleteThe Assam Laksa looks rich and flavorful macam Penang style. It has been ages I have not passed Taman Boon Bak. I think that area was developed by my sister in law's family member long ago.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like this assam laksa from this particular stall. Taman Book Bak has some good restaurants serving good dishes.
DeleteDo the lime blooms smell like limes?
ReplyDeleteThe flowers do have a slight tinge of lime smell.
DeleteSuch a nice meal! That chicken looks so good.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. The chicken was very tasty.
DeleteI'd enjoy all the dishes you had ESPECIALLY the petai! Yum Yummmm!!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh! Can't remember the last time I had mantis prawns - that would be when I was over in the peninsula a long long time ago. Not the in-thing here, I don't even know any place serving that! Sighhhhh!!!!!
Thank you, STP. When it is safe and convenient to travel, do come over for a holiday and enjoy the food here.
DeleteInteresting the flower on the lime, never seen the flower before.
ReplyDeleteStinky beans looks intriguing especially the name.
Thank you, Margaret. The beans are not stinky when cooked and when you eat the beans. It is only stinky when you go to the washroom. Lol!
DeleteFabulous food, enjoy! Have a wonderful day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Valerie. Have a wonderful day too.

Thank you, Julia.
DeleteI don't dare to buy Assam laksa delivery because the soup smell is way too strong to be eaten at home. Your Assam laksa looks so very tasty. All your dinner dishes look scrumptious. I like to eat Kon cheen Kai. What is the taste of the kon cheen Kai? Nam Yue taste?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. No nam yue taste in the kon cheen kai. I don't know what they use to marinate the chicken.
Delete"Yummy Food Garden" sure sounds great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower and the tofu sounds tempting!
Thank you, Iris.

Thank you, Sandee. Have a fabulous day too.
DeleteThe seed packets are so colorful i'd want to buy one of each!
ReplyDeleteI can be tempted to buy one of each but I better not because I don't have to space for them all.
DeleteThe food looks delicious. You appear to have seeds there of things I have never seen before, interesting. Keep safe, Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane. I am interested in some of the seeds that I have never seen before.
DeleteSo nice to able to dine out again and enjoy those tasty dishes.
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant is once again enjoying good business as before.
DeleteRico pollo. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteCorrect me if I am wrong, the lime plant flowers look like gardenia flowers if I remember correctly. Such lovely White colour, I love looking at flowers, it makes me happy and bring a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteThe type of gardenia flowers in my garden is bigger than these tiny lime plant flowers. They both have pearl white petals.
DeleteIt is nice to be able to dine out, to enjoy delicious and piping hot food. Saves the trouble of having to dabao. In Sg, a total of 5 can dine out but I saw your dinner gathering was for 6.
ReplyDeleteWe were given a big table which at normal time could seat 8 to 10 people.
Deletewhat a fantastic array of seed choices - things we never have/or have seen in the UK! I have lemon trees - the flower scent is quite strong. Your meals look delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Betty. I had 2 lemon trees grown from seeds but they took a long time to flower and fruit so I gave up on them.
DeleteGran variedad de semillas. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteSuperb combo of dishes! Wet, dry, fried, deep-fried, braised... all covered.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacy. Yes, all covered. We can order more dishes when more people dine together.
