We have morning market in our area every Friday and there is a fish stall that sells very fresh fish and other seafood. I bought 4 black pomfrets and 1 kg of big prawns.
I was in no mood to cook dinner that evening but decided to because I needed to clear the green (choy sum) from the fridge.
There was 1 small can of braised peanuts. I drained the peanuts of the liquid, rinsed it with water and steamed it for a few minutes. Usually, we will eat this with porridge. Then I remembered the prawns and I wanted to try a simple recipe.
I took out 2 big prawns to cook Garlic Butter Prawns.
Actually, I wanted to cook 4 big prawns but ended up cooking 2 only.
I can be very fickle minded sometimes.
After placing the dishes on the table, I looked at the 2 prawns and "why so stingy with the prawns?" came to my mind. Lol! It was good because we like the prawns cooked with garlic and butter.
Update on the bananas in my garden. These look like dwarf bananas. They are still green and no sign of ripening yet.
Now as for you, dear brothers
who are waiting for the Lord's return,
be patient, like a farmer who waits until the autumn
for his precious harvest to ripen. Yes, be patient.
And take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
(James 5:7-8, The Living Bible-TLB)
mmm..the garlic prawns!! I need at least a dozen, Nancy :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, usually I will cook more than 2 prawns.
DeleteI like sky shot #2, #4, #5 and #6.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby.
DeleteHow exotic that you have bananas growing in your garden! Was lovely to see your stunning sunrises as at the moment the Finnish sky is totally grey.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Riitta. Happy weekend.
DeleteThe bananas look tasty, nice and fat. Hope they will ripe properly. I love dinners without rice. The prawns must be so tasty. Two prawns are just right for dinner cos dinner cannot eat too heavily. What brand of butter do you have in the fridge to cook this prawn?
ReplyDeleteI think that is the biggest the bananas will grow. If I am not mistaken, I bought Anchor brand butter.
DeleteThe greens look tasty! And your banana-tree... beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Iris.

DeleteGreetings and Salutations! Lucky to have bananas growing in your backyard. Can't wait to see them turn yellow and what you will do with them. Freeze them for beverage? For a meal? Put them in chocolate then freeze them for a desert? Yummy! Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThe size of the bananas is very small. I am not sure whether there is much flesh in the bananas after removing the skin. Have a nice day too.
DeleteLol at the 2 prawns! If it were lazy me, I'll make 20 coz already making the effort haha. Then freeze the rest.
ReplyDeleteLol! Actually I thought the 2 big prawns were enough and plus I wanted to try out this garlic butter recipe to see whether we like it or not.
DeleteOh ! I am drooling over those bananas, The capture of sky at different times is amazing. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Arun for hosting.
