A week before our getaway, we were uncertain whether we should go ahead with the trip because of the increasing numbers of infected Covid-19 cases reported. We decided to watch and keep tabs on the daily updates. Initially, there were supposed to be 7 of us traveling in 2 cars but on the actual day, only 3 of us took this trip.
Throughout our journey, the weather was nice and cloudy and traffic was light. Someone suggested stopping for lunch in Malacca.
After driving many kilometres, we were told by Waze that we have reached our destination.
We alighted from the car looking left and right.
We saw Kapitan Kongsi Hotel on the right.
After a few more steps.....
And my searching eyes rested on this.
Someone directed us to the entrance.
It was after 2 pm and we were the only customers at that time.
More customers arrived before we left.
We were seated and after a while, someone came to take our orders.
We ordered 3 bowls of Cendol desserts which we requested to be served before the food. Cendol is a iced sweet dessert. Ingredients consist of shaved ice, droplets of green rice flour jelly, thick palm sugar syrup and thick coconut milk.
One of the most delicious Cendol I have tasted.
So, what food did we ordered for 3 people?
Cincalok Omelette.
Cincalok is fermented small shrimps.
Nyonya Chicken curry with black nut (keluak)
Our first experience tasting this dish.
Nyonya mixed vegetables.
Total cost of lunch for 3 people including the cendol came to about RM 70+
After lunch, we walked around to snap photos of the antique items

After lunch, we drove to Nyonya Michelle to collect our orders for the authentic Nyonya chang and pineapple tarts.
Since we were in Malacca and the items were available, we were happy to collect our orders.
Yummy pineapple tarts.
We couldn't wait, we had to open a box in the car to taste these tarts.
Authentic Nyonya Chang or glutinous rice dumpling.
Only 2 left in my fridge. These are very good Nyonya chang. In future, if we want to fix our craving for these chang or dumplings, we can order and have them delivered to our house.
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives.
Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves.
