Split Cabbage Head In My Garden

Before the rainy season started, I had 5 pots of cabbage plants growing in my garden.

This was taken in August, 2022.
This was taken in September, 2022.
This was taken in October, 2022.
The cabbage plants were growing well and healthy.
Here in this photo, the cabbage heads have started to form.
November, 2022.
This cabbage head is getting big.
This is the biggest of them all.
Due to the rainy season, the excess water has caused this cabbage head to split.
The split affected the whole cabbage head.
The insufficient sunlight also contributed to the damage.
Even the figs also split open due to excess water.
This is the curled up flower of the cranberry hibiscus.

Took this photo on a sunny morning.
This photo of the zebras was taken by a friend who visited the Taiping zoo.
Beautiful stripes on the zebra.

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our wickedness
[our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing];
The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him,
And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.

Dinner At Restoran Kari Ikan Liew, Broga, Seremban

For the first evening in Semenyih, our friends took us to Restoran Kari Ikan Liew for dinner.

Arch at the entrance.
Sign by the roadside.
There is a big compound.
There is a waterfall on the right side and a fish pond.
Japanese carbs.
Big dining area.
No problem getting a table for 5 of us.
While our friends did the ordering of dishes, I went off to take some snapshots before it gets too dark.

Sunset at 7:10pm.

Surprisingly, the service was fast even though they have to cater to so many customers.
Deep fried pork trotter with sweet sour sauce. The pork trotter was well done and the sauce very appetizing. This dish is worth returning for.
Simple stir fried crunchy cabbage with garlic.
Fish curry with assorted vegetables.
Mild curry, suitable for those who can't take spicy food.
Soft tofu with pumpkin sauce.
Overall it was an enjoyable dinner.
Here ends the first day of our holiday.

For wherever I am, though far away at the ends of the earth,
I will cry to you for help.
When my heart is faint and overwhelmed,
lead me to the mighty, towering Rock of safety.

Lunch At Restoran 226, Chemor

It has been more than 2 years since the pandemic started and we have almost forgotten about this curry noodle at Kedai Minuman Villa, Ipoh. It was end of February that we revisited this place for the curry noodle.

Hubby and I ordered curry noodle from the same stall. Mine was the curry broth version and hubby had the dry version. The price per bowl is now RM6. Before the price increase, this was one of the cheapest curry noodle in town.
Hubby's curry noodle (dry version).
Curry noodle (soup version) for me.
~~~~~
We met up with friends for lunch and I received the following coffee from a friend.
2 packs of Hawaiian coffee.
I have yet to try the coffee.
~~~~~
Lunch at Restoran 226, Chemor for 4 people.
We ordered steamed black Tilapia with chopped salted radish and bird's eye chilies.
Sauteed cabbage.
Fried tofu with shredded cucumber and Thai sweet chili sauce.
After lunch, we drove to Menglembu looking for chilled dessert to enjoy. We ordered 2 bowls of Cendol Special, 1 bowl of Yellow Jelly and 1 glass of Blended Sweet Corn to quench our thirst.

Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry,
go buy that person lunch, or if he's thirsty, get him a drink.
Your generosity will surprise him with goodness.
Don't let evil get the best of you;
get the best of evil by doing good.

Steamed Sweet Lips Fish & Fried Minced Meat Patties

3rd day of Chinese New Year 2022 (3rd of Feb). While the young men were still sleeping, the early risers (hubby and I) went out for our breakfast.

Sunrise at 7:20am
No morning walk for us for the whole week of Chinese New Year celebration.
Sunrise at 7:25am.
We had breakfast at one of our regular coffee shops.
I ordered 1 plain polo bun.
Hubby ordered pre-fried noodle (yee mee) in soup.

Lunch for 4 people.
Sweet Lips Fish from elder son's fishing trip.
I cut the fish into 2 halves. Even half the fish was too much for 4 of us. I steamed the top half and topped with blended ginger and garlic oil.
Beef slices cooked with king oyster mushrooms and fresh shittake mushrooms.
Three dishes including a plate of green (blanched choy fah) for dinner.
~~~~~
Dinner for 3 people.
Younger son going out for dinner with friends.
Minced meat with egg patties. This is something I which I haven't had for a long, long time. This is my childhood's favourite and also I used to cook for my sons.
Cabbage with beef slices.
Added the ladies finger harvested from my garden.
Simple dinner for 3 of us.
This mural shows 2 washer women signed by Kareem.
Dulang washers are usually women who pan for tin sediments at the water's edge.
Linking to Monday Mural.
That, by the way, is what baptism pictures for us:
In baptism we show that we have been saved from death
and doom by the resurrection of Christ;
not because our bodies are washed clean by the water but
because in being baptized we are turning to God and
asking him to cleanse our hearts from sin.
