Home Grown White Radish + Pork Rib Soup

There is not so much rain these few days. Since the morning is dry, we are able to resume our morning walk. The morning sky does look different.

Morning sky at 6:55am.
I was standing in the middle of the road. After taking this snapshot, I quickly walked to the side because there was a car coming towards me.
6:59am
7:00am.
Sunrise behind the trees at 7:16am.
~~~~~
Breakfast at one of our regular coffee shop.
My breakfast: Char Siew Wanton Mee and herbal tea.
(wonton noodle, bbq pork, 5 minced pork dumplings = RM5.50)
Hubby's breakfast: Shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun) with Chinese tea RM5.50
~~~~~
Back home in my garden.
Some of my white radish are ready for harvest.
I pulled out 3 white radishes.
These will be enough to boil soup for dinner.
Ingredients for soup: White radish, carrot, red dates, goji berries, dried cuttlefish and pork rib. There was enough soup to share with my neighbour.
Our simple dinner: White radish soup, leftover fish cake with king oyster mushroom, chili oil and steamed brown rice.
A friend came back from Taiping and gifted me with 2 bottles of delicious chili oil with crunchy bits.

For the free gift of eternal salvation is now being offered to everyone;
and along with this gift comes the realization that God wants us
to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures
and to live good, God-fearing lives day after day,
looking forward to that wonderful time we've been expecting,
when his glory shall be seen - the glory of our great God
and Savior Jesus Christ.

Beef Balls Luffa Soup Noodle Soup

There has been hardly any rain for the past two weeks and we are now entering into the third week.
 Sunrise at 7:20 am.
 It is humid and hardly any breeze at the park.

Since the weather is so warm, I decided to cook something simple.
 I cooked a small pot of soup using some home made beef balls, my home grown angle luffa and white bitter gourd, spring onions and ginger slices.
 I cooked 2 bowls of dried noodles.
 So plain looking, so we need something to spice up the dinner.
We need some chili oil to go with the noodles.
The one on the left is store bought and the one on the right is home made.
Of course the store bought one is more delicious!
 This was our simple dinner for 2 people.

Wine Chicken Noodle & Home Made Chili Oil

These days, the weather here is very unpredictable. Sometimes, when the sky looked like it was going to rain, it didn't. At times, when the sky was bright and sunny, it rained instead.
 Morning sky at 7:15 am.
Few hours later, there was a heavy downpour.
 I passed by this kitty when I was going up the steps to a coffee shop for our breakfast. It has a collar with a small bell attached to it.
 When the kitty saw me, it wanted to come near me.
 I think the kitty wanted to get some attention from me.
 Wine Chicken Noodle (kai chow mee sua), I had this for breakfast.
I requested for extra wine to give the extra flavour or oomph!
A cup of hot unsweetened black coffee for me.
 We love this brand of chili oil which we buy from Jaya Grocer.
It is not cheap and I wanted to try to make my own.  Although my home made chili oil turned out quite tasty but not up to my expectation. I will have to keep on trying.
 This is my home made chili oil. It goes well with fried rice, fried noodles, fried or steamed fish, and many others.
The Adenium plant that I adopted from a friend has pretty pink flowers.

Happy Father's Day to all fathers!

His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us
into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us.
And he did this because he wanted to.

Home Cooked Beef Slices With White Bitter Gourd

So good to wake up to another beautiful morning. Though there was a slight drizzle and our walking exercise cancelled, the sky brightened up after the drizzling stopped.
 Morning sky at 7:25 am.
 Fluffy white cloud at 7:26 am.
 The dark clouds came back at 7:55 am.

I have cooked duck with my white bitter gourd from our garden and this time, I wanted to use beef.
 Beef slices and white bitter gourd with salted black beans, garlic, red and green chilies.
 We decided to cook some plain noodles instead of rice to eat with the beef and bitter gourd dish. I mixed the cooked noodle with some garlic oil and light soy sauce.
And this super hot chili oil bought from the supermarket makes the dinner so good and tasty. After this, I am going to try making my own chili oil.
A good friend sent me this photo when the tree was in full bloom. If I am not mistaken, we call this the "Flame of the Forest". By now, most of the flowers have dropped.

So let it grow, and don't try to squirm out of your problems.
For when your patience is finally in full bloom,
then you will be ready for anything, strong in character,
full and complete.
