Lunch At Restoran Moon Flower, Ipoh

One morning as we walked out of the gate for our morning walk, we were greeted with an unusual sunrise.

Sunrise at 7:05 am.

Morning sky at 8:21 am after our morning walk.
On the opposite side is the Kledang Hill.
Upon reaching home, we drove out to have breakfast with a friend in Canning Garden.
~~~~~
That afternoon, we had lunch with friends.
A friend recommended this place. We had to use Waze app to direct us to this restaurant which is located at Laluan Tawas Damai, Anjung Tawas Impiana, Ipoh.
We wanted to try this "Big Bowl Fish". This picture is not very clear. We were told that this dish was enough for 6 people. but there were only 4 of us.
Since it was our first time, we were recommended to try this lard rice @ RM 6. We ordered only 1 bowl to try.
Under the spring onion and lard, there was an egg with runny yolk and some gravy. I am not sure but I think it was a raw egg placed on top of the hot rice.
Then we ordered paku pakis fern @ RM 15.
This is sour, every effective appetizer.
Steamed "High Fin Patin" fish with clams @ RM 112.50
Pork ribs in creamy gravy baked in bread @ RM 35.
Total cost of lunch for 4 people including drinks - RM176.10
Golden Girls' Lunch At Restoran Curry Keng, Ipoh.
On the last Wednesday of December 2016, the Golden Girls decided to get together for lunch. We met at our usual meeting place. I was the last to reach and they all got into my car. Since we couldn't get a parking place near the targeted place, we ended up in Restoran Curry Keng at Hala Pasar Baru, Ipoh new town. This is the first visit for my 3 girlfriends.
3 of us ordered the curry noodles and we requested to add prawns.
Additional curry oil paste to go with our noodles.
1 girlfriend ordered chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
We also ordered this Traditional Fried Rice for us to share.
The lady boss recommended this special drink to us. It is Guiling Gao + White Coffee. It is recommended to drink it without ice first to enjoy the unique taste of the mixture. Then later to add ice and taste the difference. A friend and I, who are coffee drinkers were game to try it and we love it!
The other 2 non-coffee drinkers chose this Soya Bean Jelly with Longan. This is good!
After lunch, we went off to Aeon Big in Farlim to do some shopping.
Delicious Curry Noodle & Kai Si Hor Fun At Restoran Curry Keng, Ipoh.
I saw a Facebook posting by John Boey about a new eatery in Ipoh new town and I was interested to give this new place a try. I waited for its opening on the 1st of December, 2016 but we didn't go on the 1st day.
It was raining heavily on early Friday morning (2nd December) but the heavy rain didn't deterred us from going out for breakfast! Hubby and I went to try out the food at Restoran Curry Keng at Hala Pasar Baru, Ipoh. It is facing the Ayamas outlet near the wet market in Ipoh new town.
Curry noodles sounds good to us on a cold and wet morning. I asked the lady who came to take our orders what else they have besides curry noodles. I was told they also have chicken noodles (kai si hor fun). After hubby ordered the dry version curry noodle, I decided to try the chicken noodle and forgot about the curry soup noodle.
My bowl of chicken noodle (kai si hor fun). It came with the red oil floating on top and generous portion of chicken and prawns. Did I enjoyed my breakfast? You bet I did!
 Hubby's dry version curry noodle. We prefer more of the thick curry gravy for extra oomph!
Our non-sweetened coffee - hubby's iced black coffee and my coffee with evaporated milk.
 The walls are lined with pretty decorations.
More decorations on both sides.
I was told they serve a special rice item for lunch only and I wanted to try that too!
 Facing the Ayamas outlet and you can't miss the bright orange/red shop next to it.
 After breakfast, we took a look at the nearby project.
 New wet market project.
After breakfast, we drove from new town to old town. The morning sky was gray.
The distance mountain was covered with mist.
Wanting to snap the misty mountains and I caught this dog trying to cross the road.
So did we go back for the special rice item?
Yes, we did and on the same day!
For lunch we ordered a bowl of curry noodles, soup version with yellow noodle. I specially requested for prawns to be added. My curry loving friends will love this!
And this special rice item called Traditional Granny Rice. It came in a neat heap and before hubby was about to eat it, I stopped him to take a snapshot! It has pieces of crispy fried lard, dried shrimp, onion crisps, egg, etc. This will be great if eaten with some spicy prawn paste (sambal belacan). The cost of both our breakfast and lunch were reasonable.
If you love someone,
you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost.
You will always believe in him,
always expect the best of him,
and always stand your ground in defending him.
