This is part 2 and the last post for the murals in Prawn Village in Tanjung Tualang. If you are interested, you can click here for part 1.

This one looks like the Railway Station in Ipoh.
This is probably the Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah.

Jesus replied that the time had come for him to return
to his glory in heaven, and that "I must fall and die
like a kernel of wheat that falls into the furrows of the earth.
Unless I die I will be alone - a single seed.
But my death will produce many new wheat kernels -
a plentiful harvest of new lives.

The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God
and is useful to teach us what is true and
to make us realize what is wrong in our lives;
it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.

White Bitter Gourd In My Garden & Mural Tribute To Frontliners

Once again I managed to get hold of some white bitter gourd seeds from the white bitter gourd that I bought from a noodle stall. I purposely chose a bitter gourd that had a tinge of orange colour, meaning that the seeds are matured enough to be sowed. When I cut the bitter gourd for cooking, I kept aside the seeds for sowing.

One of the white bitter gourd seedlings from the sowed seeds.
First fruit from the bitter gourd vines.
Bitter gourds hanging from the vines.
The newly formed bitter gourds are in light green colour.
As they grow bigger, they slowly turned to pearl white colour.
This round the bitter gourds are not very big.
I took this snapshots under the semi shade with the bitter gourds hanging from the vines above me. From this image, how many bitter gourds can you spot?
Compared to the normal green bitter gourds, these white ones has a crunchier texture and the bitter taste is very slight.
~~~~~
One morning when we drove to town for breakfast, I saw this new mural.
This mural is a tribute and "thank you" to our frontliners fighting the covid virus.
This mural covers the whole side wall of this corner lot.
Frontliners comforting and encouraging one another.
Thank you to all frontliners here and elsewhere.
Lord, with all my heart I thank you.
I will sing your praises before the armies of angels.
I face your Temple as I worship, giving thanks
to you for all your loving-kindness and your faithfulness,
for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.
When I pray, you answer me and
encourage me by giving me the strength I need.
Steamed Prawns With Raisin Wine For Dinner
A start to a cloudy day. Nice and cool for our morning walk.
Start of morning walk at 7:05am
Sunrise at 7:55am, end of morning walk.
~~~~~
We were supposed to buy breakfast but saw that dine-in is allowed.
It was my turn to order mee jawa. The lady boss is an Indonesian married to a local and can speak very good Cantonese.
Hubby ordered wonton noodle with 2 sui kao.
Wonton noodle served with chicken and mushroom.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Steamed prawns with ginger strips, red dates, goji berries and home made raisin wine.
Stir fried French beans with dried shrimp. I added an egg, cleared the last one so that I can buy a new batch of eggs.
An old uncle with a cup of white coffee mural in Ipoh old town painted by Ernest Zacharevic. This mural is painted on the side wall of the Old Town White Coffee cafe, in front of Ipoh Padang.
I will give them - in my house,
within my walls - a name far greater than the honor
they would receive from having sons and daughters.
For the name that I will give them is an everlasting one;
it will never disappear.
Hor Hee Or Fish Balls Noodle & Prawn Noodle
When we eat the same food too often, we can get bored. We have been limiting ourselves to the food found in our area and after a few months, we started to think of food which we don't have in our area. So for this particular morning, after we have finished our morning walk, we drove to Menglembu.
Hor Hee or Fish Balls Noodle for hubby (on the left)
Prawn Noodle for me (on the right).
Both without their soup.
Our breakfast.
Both noodles with their soup added.
Since we can't go to Penang Island for Prawn Noodle or Hokkien Mee, this prawn noodle will do to satisfy my craving. Instead of pork slices, they give fish cake slices.
I harvested the above from my garden: angled luffa, deep purple brinjal and some green brinjals. I gave the angled luffas to a friend and my sis, and kept the brinjals for myself.
Later in the morning, a friend came over to give me some of her home grown mulberries and banana.
Pisang awak has soft texture and not very sweet compared to other types of banana.
Blessed is the Lord,
for he has shown me that his never-failing love
protects me like the walls of a fort!
