Lunch At Yes Restaurant & A Visit To Antong Coffee Mill, Taiping

While we were still in Penang, our friend was telling us about the Yes Restaurant in Taiping and suggested that we go there for lunch.

With the help of Waze, we reached Yes Restaurant just after 2 pm.

There was no lunch crowd at that time. We ordered only 3 dishes because we were not very hungry.4 glasses of Chinese tea.Fried tofu with minced pork.Water spinach (kangkong) with sambal belacan. We came specially for this dish. Yam and fish in a clay pot. There were chunky pieces of fish inside the yam gravy.

After lunch, we made a short visit to the Antong Coffee Mill. This is the 3rd time I have been here.

This is the house when Dr Sun Yat Sen stayed when he was in Taiping.

Water plants in the compound.
I am interested in the water plants with the tiny leaves. I have not seen this before.
After our visit to Antong Coffee Mill, we were taken to Plaza Perbandaran.
Our friends wanted to buy Taiping buns.
After this, we drove back to Ipoh.
These were the buns we bought at Plaza Perbandaran.
I bought 6 sweet potato plain buns and 5 coconut buns. I gave some to my neighbours and kept these for ourselves.
I bought the above from Antong Cafe. Instant Golden Roast Antong Coffee, dried bread and coconut biscuits.
The above items were from Penang. Penang Assam Laksa paste, Penang Prawn Mee Paste, Sambal Dried Prawns or Sambal Hae Bee and dried ginger. These will be enough until our next visit to Penang.

God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need
and more so that there will not only be enough for your own needs
but plenty left over to give joyfully to others.

Dry Prawn Mee, Kolo Mee & Coffee In Penang

Last week, hubby and I followed a friend for a short day trip to Penang. Our friend came to pick us up from our house at about 7:30 am. The weather was nice and cool and it was a smooth drive all the way with light traffic. My hand phone's battery need charging so I didn't snap any photo along the way. Our friend took us to Big Crab Street Food at Fortune Park, Jelutong for breakfast. We ordered the following for 4 people to share.

2 plates prawn mee dry version. This is my first time tasting dry prawn mee. I still miss the prawn mee in soup version.
1 bowl kolo mee with bbq pork.
I love the noodle used for this kolo mee.
2 pieces of crispy thin peanut and coconut pancakes.
Peanut and coconut - yummy combination for the pancakes.
Some dim sum items for sharing.
Saw this hanging pot after I alighted from the car. Interesting to see plants growing upwards and downwards from the pot.
Our friend took us to this old coffee shop for Penang's coffee.
My unsweetened coffee with evaporated milk - kopi-C kosong.
Some toast with kaya (coconut egg spread) with coffee.
After our coffee treat, time to move on to get some street snack.
Famous Fried Tee Kuih (neen koh) in Penang.
Sold at RM 1.50 per piece.
We left Penang for Taiping at about 1 pm.

Indian style fried rice vermicelli, sweet snacks & steamed fish

After we have had our walk, we stopped to take away 2 packets of fried vermicelli Indian style from the roadside stall.

As usual, we requested for extra sambal. We went to our regular coffee shop, ordered our coffee and ate our breakfast there.

We walked home after breakfast. I stopped to take a snapshot of this Ochna serrulata berries.

Back in my garden, I harvest 2 ripe figs.
These figs taste sweeter since they had the chance to ripen well on the plant before they were harvested.
Chilled herbal jelly (Gui Ling Guo) - the last one left in the fridge.
Chilled Sago dessert with palm sugar and evaporated milk.
I used milk because I do not have fresh coconut milk.

Simple Home Cooked Dinner
I had another 3 fishes in the fridge. Since they were very fresh, I decided to steam them tom yam style. I used the same ingredients and they were all placed on top of the fishes.
I also steamed 2 Chinese sausages and the darker one was the liver sausage.
This was our simple home cooked dinner with rice porridge.
Chilled home made sago dessert after dinner.
It was a mild sweet dessert which I have not ate for a long time.

Be full of love for others,
following the example of Christ who loved you and
himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins.
And God was pleased,
for Christ's love for you was like sweet perfume to him.
