We were looking forward to have our breakfast in town but we reached to find the place closed. So we opted for breakfast at another nearby place and that is Restoran Tet Shin at Jalan Yau Tet Shin, Ipoh. There is ample parking space before 8 am. This eatery is usually packed around this time.
Savoury Chicken Glutinous rice (loh mai kai) for me. I like the soft glutinous rice.
Hubby tried this Mee Jawa from a new stall.
And a few pieces of Fried Goodies as add-on. This breakfast will last us till dinner. For lunch, we usually take some fruits.

The following photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
I found these green and black little things on the cement floor near my gate, Initially, I was very puzzled.
I looked further up and saw this little green critter. Then, I realized that those things on the cement floor were droppings left behind by these culprits. There were more droppings on the brick as well.
These green culprits or caterpillars fed on my Periwinkle plant till almost bald!
Let us have some fun here. How many green critters can you find on my Periwinkle plant? After taking these snapshots, I cut off the branches with the critters on them and transfer them to some wild bushes by the roadside and hopefully, they will turn into beautiful butterflies one day.
Do not underestimate this little green caterpillar. Just this little one can finish off the leaves from my Periwinkle plant in a short time!
Linking to Saturday's Critters.
They had almost finished me off, yet I refused to yield
and disobey your laws. In your kindness,
spare my life; then I can continue to obey you.
(Psalm 119:87-88, The Living Bible-TLB)
It's a shame that the caterpillars feasted on your periwinkle plant...but you were so merciful to still hope that they will turn into beautiful butterflies. They too need to eat to survive and hopefully the periwinkle plant will recover in no time at all...sometimes pruning makes a plant grow stronger and bushier;P ...
ReplyDeleteLooking at your loh mai kai gave me an inspiration to incorporate that into our menu for next week:)
Happy weekend Nancy!
Thank you, Annie. I still have a branch of healthy periwinkle left on the plant and it is blooming! Yes, do try out the loh mai kai for your family. Have a happy weekend too!
DeleteYummy food photos. I like that green critter on leaves...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angel. I like them when they turn into butterflies. Lol!
DeleteEEeekkkss!!!! Nancy, I very geli those caterpillars. Just looking at them my hair stand on ends LOL! I have experienced caterpillars attacking my plant. The first tell tale sign are those droppings. The way you got rid of them is good.
ReplyDeleteI also very geli with them. But I also kesian them, they needed to eat too. While I took breakfast, they also breakfast on my plants!
Deletewow that glutinous rice looks so GOOD!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. It tastes good too!
DeleteA great breakfast, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThose caterpillars are so big but very hungry too!
Thank you, Christine. Good thing I saw them before they totally bald my plant!
DeleteHello, your breakfast looks delicious. I love the cute caterpillar. Great find and photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. Have a wonderful weekend! God bless!
DeleteI like to eat soft lo mai Kai too. The green caterpillars need to eat a lot to turn into butterflies. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. These green caterpillars are picky eaters. They only nibble on certain plants, not all the plants. Have a good weekend too!
Delete...it's a buggy world out there.
ReplyDeleteAnd they do love to drop by for a visit to my garden.
Deletei am not familiar with your foods, only what i have learned here, but your breakfasts seem heavier than what we eat. but if i eat a regular breakfast, i too am not hungry again till dinner. cute critter - have a wonderful weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. I do agree that our breakfast tends to be on the heavier side. Have a wonderful weekend too!
DeleteI counted four of those caterpillars but I am sure there are probably a whole lot more, they do some real damage so very quickly.
ReplyDeleteYou have very sharp eyes. Yes, there were 4 of them, very big ones. I got them all transferred to the roadside bushes. Have a great weekend!
DeleteThe breakfast looks yummy. The greeb critters have camouflaged very well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rajesh. The gave away signs were their droppings and bald plant!
DeleteFun fun fun!! Now, lets' see. I see three. I am sure there are more, they are so well camouflaged!! They are large too. You have such a good heart to save them! I bet many people would kill them. Especially after seeing their destroyed plants! The molded rice dish looks so good! Here, there is nothing glutinous, so I have never tasted any of these dishes.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. Yes, 3 on the plant and 1 on the brick. They almost bald my plant! Have a beautiful weekend!
DeleteOh no, your plant is looking quite sad all cut back but in the end it might have done it a lot of good. I do not think they will turn into butterflies they look more like the caterpillar of the Oleander Hawk-moth. Still very pretty though. Diane
ReplyDeleteI now have a branch left from the plant. Oh! I can't tell a butterfly from a moth. I hope they won't choose my plants again. Have a good weekend!
Deletemniam :)
ReplyDeleteZapraszam na najnowszy wpis!
Thank you, dear. Have a happy weekend!
DeleteThe green caterpillar is beautiful...it's a shame it is so destructive.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. It is very destructive especially on the plants and they eat fast!
DeleteNibble nibble nibble is all those little ones are thinking of.
ReplyDeleteLol! That's what they love to do!
DeleteThat little culprit is eating ghoulishly and pooping a lot.. ha ha ha.. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd their poop gave them away! Hahaha!
DeleteHi Nancy. I hate these critters especially because they can destroy a tree or bush. Get rid of them as soon as you can or it's godd bye of tree. See ya.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Thank you, Paul. I will have to keep a sharp lookout for them in future! Have a great weekend!

DeleteI think I see 3 critters there. I hate them too. Keep disturbing my lime plants. ^^
ReplyDeleteYummy breakfast. I like glutinous rice too.
Thank you, Rose. There are 3 on the plant and 1 on the brick. Yes, they also chew up my lime plants!
DeleteHehe the droppings look familiar to me too. I periodically get these on my adenium plants (not the same species of caterpillar though)
ReplyDeleteAiyo! You mean the caterpillar will also chew on the adenium plants? I better go check them out too!
DeleteNot this exact species maybe. Sometimes brown sometimes green.
DeleteThanks Stacy, I must do regular check ups on my adenium plants.
DeleteYour lor mai kai looks nicer than the one i eat...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. This one is soft and nice.
DeleteCaterpillars need to eat too - and one day it will be a beautiful butterfly to brighten up your life.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I would love to have the butterflies in my garden!
DeleteWe like to eat at this coffee shop! The Jawa Mee is extremely tasty (my dad's fav). I usually take the shredded chicken n mushroom wanton mee. The Hongkong Chee Cheong fun n lor mai Kai are yummy too
ReplyDeleteI used to frequent this coffee shop with my ex-colleagues when I was still working. Next visit, I will try the Jawa Mee.
DeleteAwesome post
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear. Have a great day!
DeleteI like Mee Jawa, the gravy is very flavourful
