It all started with Friend A tagging Friend B & I in a Facebook posting. Friend B went to scout out the location of Doris Cafe. The curry puff in the posting looks very familiar to the one which I have tasted before. Later the business moved on to another place and we lost track of its where about.
Last week, the foodie group calls for a breakfast outing and we all agreed to meet at 8.30 am. Friend A came to pick us up in her car and with Friend B directing us to Doris Cafe in Menglembu town.

Doris Cafe is here at 1F, off the Main Road, Menglembu (behind the police staff quarters). The cafe looks nice and neat.
When we were seated, we were handed the menu with the types of noodles available and their prices.
They also have rice items, fried chicken, toasts and sweet drinks. We looked through the menu and we ordered the following items for our breakfast.
A big size Curry Puff, original version with curry meat & potato filling. I like the crispy/crunchy pastry of the freshly fried curry puff.
Curry puff cut into 4 pieces for us to try. We also ordered a Sardine Puff to taste.
2 bowls of wheat + corn sweet porridge (tong sui)
2 cups of coffee for our coffee lover friends
A friend ordered Steamed Rice Noodle (chee cheong fun) with mushroom sauce. This usually comes in a plate but here it was served in a bowl.
2 plates of half boiled eggs on toast.
Drizzle some light soya sauce and dashes of white pepper on the eggs before we eat. Thankful for another delightful foodie outing and opportunity to catch up with one another.
A wise youth makes hay while the sun shines,
but what a shame to see a lad who sleeps away his hour of opportunity.
