For the past 2 weeks, I have been busy spring cleaning my house. I have been procrastinating in the cleaning job for too long. Even with the cleaning job, we still keep to our morning walking exercise and early morning breakfast. Here are some of the breakfasts and dinner we have been enjoying.
Breakfast - Ban mee (soup version) at Restoran Bandaraya, Ipoh.
If you are not prepared to wait, then you better not order from this stall.
Spicy Ban Mee (dry version)
This soup comes with the dry version Ban Mee.
Breakfast - Rice vermicelli with roast pork, bbq pork & shredded chicken in plain soup. I enjoy the soup version more than the curry. Took this breakfast at Restoran Sun Heng, Canning Garden.
Western style breakfast at Pusat Makanan Sun Hor Lok, Persiaran Greenhill.
Breakfast - Teluk Intan style chee cheong fun at Restoran Yei Lock, Jalan Kampar.
Dinner - Grilled Lamp Arab style at GP, Taman Pertama.
Dinner - Porridge (minced pork, salted egg & century egg) at GP, Taman Pertama.
Black jelly - cold dessert - from the Chinese medical shop.
Love this chilled black jelly dessert with some syrup from the small tub.

I was busy making Chinese New Year snacks - Chinese sweet meat (bak kwa).
Minced pork

Blessed are those who listen to me,

receive favor from the LORD.

...Nancy, you have a a great collection of antique treasures this week. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom for hosting!
DeleteAll of these look so good, especially the soup ones!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny!
DeleteYour home-made bak kwa looks good! I tried once but didn't like the result. Now I am not motivated to try again.
ReplyDeleteWe prefer home made ones. Much softer than the commercial ones.
DeleteKL has already seen a reduction in traffic this week. Many have already left for CNY celebrations.
ReplyDeleteThere is an increase in traffic congestion in Ipoh. Eateries are crowded too!
DeleteAll yummy food.. must go next time after CNY.. prepare for price hikes from now on!
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant is now packed with "balik kampung" crowd!
DeleteThe Lamb dish for me please. So very good that you can make your own bak kwa again and again now and you know exactly what you put into them - no preservative at all! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHome made ones are also cheaper.
DeleteWhen cleaning, no time to cook, so best to eat out. I only start tomorrow hah..hah... Your bak kwa looks good, I must try making too
ReplyDeleteThe weather is hot and dusty now. Today clean, tomorrow see dust again! Sigh!
DeleteHappy Chinese New Year and hope the Year of the Dog is a good one for you.

Last Sunday I just wiped my house windows for spring cleaning.
I never mind waiting in a restaurant as generally it means it is being cooked fresh and you are not getting food that has been hanging around. Keep well Diane
