Claypot Chicken Rice & Dried Vegetable Soup For Dinner

We had another nice morning with no rain. We went for our morning walk.

Morning sky at 6:50am.
I had pan mee which is noodle with wood fungus strips, fried anchovies, minced meat and veggie.
My breakfast with a cup of hot milo.
Hubby ordered claypot noodles.
Coleus from my garden.
They have grown tall and leggy, so I will need to replant them again.
~~~~~
I was lazy to cook so we went out for dinner.
We ordered claypot chicken rice from our favourite place, which is WK Claypot House at 101, Lengkok Rishah 3, Taman Silibin Ria, Ipoh.
Ordered dried vegetable soup which we call "choy kon" soup.
~~~~~
A friend shared this photo with me. She saw this bird perched on a concreter pillar near her house.
Can anyone help to identify this bird?

Then God said,
"Let bright lights appear in the sky to give light to the earth
and to identify the day and the night;
they shall bring about the seasons on the earth,
and mark the days and years." And so it was.

Tasty Pan Mee At Restoran Bandaraya, Ipoh

On this particular morning, we cancelled our morning walk because hubby was feeling a bit tired. It could be due to him spending hours in the heat tending to his garden project and not drinking enough water. So we rested from morning walk for that day but it didn't stop us from getting up early.

Morning sky at 6:35am.
I went out to sweep the dry leaves and watered the plants.
Sunrise at 6:55am.
Sunrise at 7:30am.
We drove out to town for breakfast at Restoran Bandaraya, Ipoh. We haven't been here for a long time.
We ordered 2 bowls of pan mee in clear broth instead of the chili pan mee (dry version).
Pan mee in clear broth with egg added.
~~~~~
From my garden.
I kept the seed from the avocado that a friend gave to me.
I buried it with some garden soil and waited for it to sprout.
I won't be growing it in my garden because I don't have the space for a big avocado tree. Once it has grown bigger and stronger, I will pass it to a friend who has ample place in her garden.
Vertical planting tower DIY by hubby.
He even planted the vegetables himself and it was a success.
The vegetables have been harvested, cooked and consumed.
These vertical planting towers have caught the eyes and interest of passers-by.
 Some were curious and have stopped to ask about the towers.
He is always kind and loving to me; he is my fortress,
my tower of strength and safety, my deliverer.
He stands before me as a shield. He subdues my people under me.
Chee Cheong Fun & Pan Mee For Breakfast
We were away for a 2 days and 1 night trip in Penang. I will need some time to sort out the photos, so today I will do a simple post about one of our breakfast that we had in one of the nearby coffee shops.
Hubby ordered the above plate of rolled steamed rice flour noodle (chee cheong fun) with yam bean strips filling. He asked for curry gravy with sprinkling of toasted sesame seeds and crispy shallots.
Add on a few pieces of fried stuff (aka liew to us), consisting of fried fish cakes, fried bean curd sheets and stuffed bean curd sheet with yam bean or "sar kok fu pei".
Hubby's breakfast and I helped to eat some of the fried stuff.
I ordered handmade pan mee in soup. A friend paid for this noodle and before he left, he came to inform us. Thanks to him for the free bowl of noodle.
~~~~~
One one of our morning walks, I saw this cat climbing up the fence in a slow motion.
When I stopped and pointed my hand phone camera at the cat, it stopped and stayed motionless for some time just watching me.
Then it slowly made its way to the top of the concrete pillar and crouched there with its face turned away from me. After this shot, we continued on with our walk.

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?
But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;
it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.

Fried Rice Vermicelli, Herbal Pan Mee & Dinner With Friends

A lovely morning to start off the new day.

Sunrise at 7am.
After morning walk, stopped at one of the coffee shop for breakfast.
At this coffee shop, hubby usually orders the fried rice vermicelli. On days when the boss is busy with many orders, he will only get to eat fried koay teow. Sometimes when the boss is in good mood, he will get extra prawns.
At first, I wanted to order toast but when I smelt the herbal soup, I changed my mind and ordered herbal pan mee. Ingredients consist of noodle, green veggie (mani cai), wood fungus, fried anchovies, minced meat, herbal soup.
This was our breakfast. Our next main meal will be dinner. In between we will have something light.
~~~~~
We had dinner with friends We tried to book a table for 4 people but 1 place was closed and the other was fully booked. We finally ended up at Restoran Wong Sheng.
Blanched Romaine Lettuce.
Their signature steamed taro & pork belly.
Assorted vegetables. My favourite is the crispy fried lotus root slices.
Steamed Tilapia fish in spicy sauce.
The fish was head partially covered by the sauce.
Overall, it was a satisfying dinner.
What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven!
What joys when sins are covered over!
What relief for those who have confessed their sins
and God has cleared their record.
Hokkien Prawn Noodle, Hor Hee Noodle & Pan Mee
There was no walking exercise for a few days after I hurt my back while shifting a flower pot in the garden. I am thankful that it was not serious and all I needed was a day of rest. By the 2nd day, I was feeling much better and was able to go back to the garden to finish the weeding. All the time I have to avoid moving any big flower pots.
Morning sky at 7:40am.
 Hubby wanted to have breakfast in Menglembu at Restoran Meng Meng Kee.
Chinese Tea for hubby and herbal tea for me.
Hor Hee noodle for hubby.
He asked for transparent or glass noodle (tong fun).
Hokkien prawn noodle (rice vermicelli or beehoon) for me.
~~~~~
Both of us needed to buy walking shoes so we went to town.
After that we had lunch at Kedai Makanan Sun Seng Fatt.
We were just in time to order our favourite pan mee (soup version) before they ran out of their soup.
After I have retired, I seldom get to eat this pan mee. The bowl of noodle came with generous serving of meat balls, fish paste balls, fried anchovies, green and egg with runny yolk.
~~~~~
No cooking that evening, so we ate whatever we had in the fridge.
We had kompia and milo for dinner.
Reheated the last 5 pieces of Sitiawan kompia given by hubby's friend.
I mistaken the dwarf long bean seeds for the normal long bean seeds. No wonder these dwarf plants are not climbing like the usual long bean vines.
These dwarf long bean plants are in the midst of producing long beans.
Harvested the long beans and a green brinjal or eggplant.
Then what can we boast about doing to earn our salvation?
Nothing at all. Why?
Because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds;
it is based on what Christ has done and our faith in him.
So it is that we are saved by faith in Christ and
not by the good things we do.
Sweet Sour Pork Rib Noodle & Drunken Prawn Noodle Soup
We started our morning walk a bit later than usual.
Morning sky at 7:13am.
It turned out to be another cloudy day.
On the reverse side, view of Kledang Hill at 7:14am.
~~~~~
We had breakfast at one of our regular coffee shop.
I ordered sweet sour pork rib noodle (pan mee). It came with a bowl of clear soup with some green vegetable.  It tasted delicious to me. Hubby tried but he doesn't like the texture of pan mee.
Generous portion of pork rib. I don't mind ordering this again.
~~~~~
What did I cook for dinner? Since I had frozen prawns in the fridge and lots of home made raisin wine, I cooked drunken prawns soup.
Ingredients used: 8 big prawns, lots of ginger strips, goji berries, red dates, home made raisin wine, prawns and eggs.
I soaked and cooked mung bean or transparent noodles (toong fun).
We each had a bowl of drunken prawn noodle with 4 big prawns and we finished drinking all the soup. After my dinner I was almost drunk with the wine. I could feel the warm spreading through my whole body.  A great dinner to have on a cool rainy evening.
The night is far gone,
the day of his return will soon be here.
So quit the evil deeds of darkness and
put on the armor of right living,
as we who live in the daylight should!
Be decent and true in everything you do so
that all can approve your behavior.
Don't spend your time in wild parties and getting drunk
or in adultery and lust or fighting or jealousy.
