One morning we went to a coffee shop where we used to order our favourite curry noodle (dry version). Hubby as usual ordered the "messy" dry version curry noodle with curry chicken and bbq pork. As for me, I had this appetite for "loh mai kai" or the steamed glutinous rice with chicken and bbq pork. I requested it to be served with curry gravy.
Loh mai kai served with curry gravy. Sometimes, they will serve the curry gravy separately.
Hope I can remember to request for the curry to be served separately the next time I ordered this. It was a nice, satisfying breakfast.
At this moment, I am missing this "ban mee" breakfast. Its been a long time I haven't eaten this.
For lunch, hubby and I had boiled groundnuts.
Groundnuts washed clean and boiled in water with a little salt to taste. I used pressure cooker to save time and gas. Cook till the groundnut are soft, then sieve out the groundnuts.
I found this little heart shaped groundnuts. So cute!
I opened the shell and found two nuts inside.

[Faith under pressure]
Consider it a sheer gift, friends,
when tests and challenges come at you from all sides.
You know that under pressure,
your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.
So don't try to get out of anything prematurely.
Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed,
not deficient in any way.
(James 1:2-4, The Message-MSG)
I thought Periwinkles were only blue! This looks like a very filling breakfast!! Such a cute heart nut! They look like what we call peanuts here.

ReplyDeleteI love it too! So cute!
DeleteAlong with curry gravy, the glutinous rice resembles our “chakkara pongal” made with rice and jiggery. Really a cute groundnut it was in heart shape and your boiling method is same as my mother. Lovely photos from your garden and I liked the shade differences of cleome flowers
