Some Of My Breakfast Food

I am running out of food photos to post because I have been eating more or else the same food that I have posted before.

Loh mai kai or steamed glutinous rice with chicken from the drink section in Restoran Yee Lock in Ipoh new town.
One of our favourite curry noodles from Kedai Kopi Ah Chow in Ipoh old town.
We also like the garlic bread from the drink section.
Due to my poor digestion or gastric problem, I have to go on a bland diet. No coffee, tea, spicy or sour food and no fried stuffs. I have to be a good girl and obey the doctor's instruction. Hopefully, I will recover soon because I am getting bored with the bland diet.
Algaonema Pink Lady from my garden.
Flower of the Aglaonema Pink Lady.
This is hubby's vertical garden project, growing lettuce.
I received some miniature purple brinjal or eggplant from a friend.
The green brinjal is from my garden.
Whenever I don't feel like going out to eat, I will think of frying rice with onions, dried shrimps and egg.
This is the City Hall in Penang.
From the internet: It was completed in 1903. This 2-storey building combines Edwardian Baroque and Palladian architectural styles. It has been listed as a national monument since 1982 under the Antiquities Act 1976. The building was last renovated between 2004 and 2005. Although the City Hall retains much of its original form, the original arcades or loggias on the ground floor have been enclosed with windows.

Let me share in the prosperity of your chosen ones.
Let me rejoice in the joy of your people;
let me praise you with those who are your heritage.

Steamed Glutinous Rice Chicken (Loh Mai Kai) With Thick Curry Gravy

We resumed our morning walk after 3 days of rest because hubby was feeling a bit tired probably due to the hot weather.

We set out at about 6:45am.
6:48am
7:25am
7:30am
Driving out for breakfast.
7:42am
7:45am
Breakfast at Kedai Kopi Yee Fatt, Jalan Kampar, Ipoh.
Full house at 7:55am on a weekday.
Business is getting back to normal.
After 2 times of disappointment, I finally get to order the glutinous rice with chicken. Once it was sold out and another time, it was not ready.
The loh mai kai has 2 pieces of bbq pork (char siew) on top of a piece of chicken.
 I requested for the thick curry gravy to be served separately.
I added more thick curry gravy as I ate.
The glutinous rice was well cooked.
Hubby ordered dry curry noodle with thick curry gravy.
We enjoyed this noodle with the thick curry gravy but some of my friends don't like it. This is the only place I will order dry curry noodle.
~~~~~
Flowers we passed by on our morning walk.
Deep pink ixora
Fragrant Rangoon Creeper or Chinese Honeysuckle flowers.
The Lord is good and glad to teach
the proper path to all who go astray;
he will teach the ways that are right and
best to those who humbly turn to him.
And when we obey him, every path he guides us on
is fragrant with his loving-kindness and his truth.
Fish Balls & Loh Mai Kai, Pattaya Fried Rice & Fried Chicken Rice
This was 2 Mondays ago. There were 4 fish balls and 2 loh mai kai (steamed glutinous rice) in the fridge, given to us by our neighbour. Upon reaching home from morning walk, I put the fish balls and loh mai kai to steam and boiled water to make tea.
The tea bags were given by another friend.
We each had 2 fish balls and 1 loh mai kai, enough to sustain us till dinner.
~~~~~
Our neighbour called me to inform that she had ordered dinner for us.
#1 - Pattaya Fried Rice
#2 - Fried Chicken with black pepper sauce + rice.
She also ordered 5 pieces curry puffs which we kept for next day's lunch.
The 2 sets came with free iced lemon tea.
Pattaya fried rice: Flavourful fried rice wrapped in egg omelette.
Thanks to our neighbour for ordering 2 different sets for us to enjoy.
~~~~~
The following snapshots were taken on our morning walk.
Every morning, we pass by this house where there is this dog sitting on top of its owner car. It sits facing outward keeping a close watch of what is happening in front of him.
This is the first time I see a dog on top of a car. It is common to see a cat on top of a car but not a dog.
As hubby walked past, it turned its head to keep its eyes on hubby.
I think it doesn't like me stopping in front of the house, pointing my hand phone in its direction. Before it could get down from the top of the car, I quickly moved on.
"Happy and Blessed Father's Day" to all fathers.
Since the Lord is directing our steps,
why try to understand everything that happens along the way?
Update From My Garden & Dinner With Friends.
These days nothing much is happening in my garden except for some existing edibles that are still growing and bearing fruit. I water the plants every morning except when it rained, and harvest whatever can be harvested. Few days ago, I managed to clear the garden of weeds and now it is much tidier.
Some of the carrot plants growing in pots.
A calamansi flower
A white eggplant or brinjal ready for harvest.
This fig plant has just been trimmed and one of the new branches has started to fruit. Can you see the little green fig?
A freshly harvested fig from my garden.
~~~~~
Free lunch from a friend.
When we were having a light breakfast at our regular coffee shop, our friend gave us 2 steamed glutinous rice with chicken and mushroom (loh mai kai).
We brought home the loh mai kai.
We steamed and ate the loh mai kai for lunch.
~~~~~
Dinner with friends at a restaurant.
4 of us sat at a big table with adequate physical distancing.
French beans, crispy fried lotus root, carrot, peanuts coated with salted egg yolk.
Steamed taro with pork belly (woo tau kow yoke).
Deep fried Tilapia with sweet sour assam sauce - very appetizing.
Total cost of dinner for 4 people = RM71.60
Can horses run on rocks? Can oxen plow the sea?
Stupid even to ask - but no more stupid than what you do
when you make a mockery of justice and corrupt
and sour all that should be good and right.
Indian Cuisine For Breakfast, Glutinous Chicken Rice For Dinner.
We have been passing by this roadside stall whenever we go on our morning walk. There will customers waiting in line to take away their breakfast. So yesterday the 78th day MCO, we crossed over to the other side of the road to see what the Indian lady and her daughter are selling. They sells nasi lemak, fried rice vermicelli, and idli (rice cake). Since this is the first time, we bought the following items to try.
~~~~~
Breakfast
Fried vermicelli Indian style with spicy sambal.
Hubby's breakfast with Nescafe.
My breakfast with Nescafe.
2 idli (rice cake) with coconut chutney and dhal curry. I asked for 1 idli but I was told that I had to take 2 idli instead.
Mid morning: Hubby and I went shopping at Aeon Big Falim. Among the items I bought were the above ice-creams and some potato crisps (not in the picture).
A friend sent some of their home grown Jack fruits to us.
~~~~~
Lunch
Herbal chicken soup with croissants bought from Aeon Big Falim.
Remaining portion of the herbal chicken soup from the previous day.
~~~~~
Dinner
2 pax of glutinous rice with chicken (lor mai kai) from a friend.
I rather they do not use these aluminium foil.
To warm up, I steamed the lor mai kai.
Onion and egg omelette - special request from hubby.
Blanched baby kai lan (Chinese broccoli) drizzled with garlic oil and soy sauce.
Strange combination for a satisfying dinner for 2 people.

Dear friends, don't be bewildered or surprised
when you go through the fiery trials ahead, for this is no strange,
unusual thing that is going to happen to you.
Instead, be really glad - because these trials will make you partners
with Christ in his suffering, and afterwards you will have the
wonderful joy if sharing his glory in that coming day
when it will be displayed.
