Fish & Chicken Nasi Briyani At Vighna Bamboo Briyani

One day around lunch time, I received a call from a friend. She invited hubby and I to join her and a friend for lunch at Vighna Bamboo Briyani. Since we just had our lunch, we declined and thanked her for her invitation. I told her that since she enjoyed the food so much, we will go the next day. True to our words, we were there for lunch the next day with 2 other friends.

I happened to be seated opposite this "Love" sign hanging on the wall.
The ladies ordered mango lassi while the men had plain water.
We ordered 2 types of Bamboo briyani for us to share.
This was how it was served.
Out came the nasi briyani wrapped with banana leaf.
Chicken briyani.
Fish briyani
Cucumber raita (cucumber with yogurt).
4 pieces of fried chicken.
Total bill for the above items came to RM63.00 for 4 people.

We were early and ahead of the lunch crowd.

The following photos were taken at a fried noodle shop where we had dinner one evening.
Flower horn fish.
We were seated near to this fish tank.
Flower horn fish is believed to bring good luck to its owner. This fish has a lifespan of 10 to 12 years. Flower horn fish is aggressive and if released to the wild, they become invasive pests.

And even we Christians, although
we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory,
also groan to be released from pain and suffering.
We, too, wait anxiously for that day when God will give us
our full rights as his children, including the new bodies he has
promised us - bodies that will never be sick again and will never die.

Who may climb the mountain of the Lord and enter where he lives?
Who may stand before the Lord? Only those with pure hands and hearts,
who do not practice dishonesty and lying.
They will receive God's own goodness as their blessing from him,
planted in their lives by God himself, their Savior.

A New Trellis For Our Bauhinia Kockiana Vines

This was the 2nd last day (30th) of May. It was a Monday. We had workmen to put up a metal trellis to support our Bauhinia Kockian vines in front of our house / porch. The first three pictures were before the metal trellis was erected.

These Bauhiana Kockiana vines acted as a screen for the front of our house from the outside.
The vines were propped up with the supports that were put up by hubby.
Hubby used metal and pvc pipes to prop up the vines. Due to the weight of the vines, it looked like the support was going to give way and might collapse any time. So hubby had some workmen to erect a metal trellis to support the flowering vines.

Putting up the last vertical support for the trellis on a hot day.
I took this photo from my sitting room.
The workmen took less than half a day to finish the work.
One last portion (right hand side) of the vines yet to be support by the trellis.
Once the trellis was completed, hubby will have to dismantle the old support from under the vines which will take a few days to complete.
Will need some time for the vines to start growing and see how it will look like in the near future.
Now, the front of my house looks much neater and the porch area is now much brighter.

Cooking for dinner.
I bought a fresh bamboo shoot from one of the roadside vegetable sellers. It is not easy to find fresh bamboo shoots in our area.
A big fresh bamboo shoot.
I sliced off the outer layer and discarded the hard part of the shoot, leaving behind the tender part of the shoot. Then I cut the bamboo shoots into strips. Then I blanched the bamboo strips in boiling water before cooking.
Ingredients: Blanched bamboo shoot strips, pork belly strips, chopped garlic, red fermented bean curd cubes (lam yue), dark and light sauce, oyster sauce, salt and sugar to taste and spring onions.
Noodle (mee sua) in white diakon and pork soup.
Ingredients for soup: white diakon, carrot, pork, red dates and gojiberries.

The following photos were taken at the Gunung Lang Recreational Park.
We saw a pair of white peacocks in a cage.
The other one was resting at the side of the cage.
It seemed to know that there were visitors and without warning, this peacock started spread out and showed off its beautiful snow white feathers. It was a pleasant surprise for us. The white feathers look like delicate lace material.

I will be your God through all your lifetime,
yes, even when your hair is white with age.
I made you and I will care for you.
I will carry you along and be your Savior.

That evening, hubby and I were in our car, on our way home.
I took the following snapshots.
About 7:30pm
While driving on an overhead bridge.
About 7:40pm.
Praise the Lord, O heavens! Praise him from the skies!
Praise him, all his angels, all the armies of heaven.
Praise him, sun and moon and all you twinkling stars.
Praise him, skies above. Praise him, vapors high above the clouds.
