Some Of My Breakfast Food

I am running out of food photos to post because I have been eating more or else the same food that I have posted before.

Loh mai kai or steamed glutinous rice with chicken from the drink section in Restoran Yee Lock in Ipoh new town.
One of our favourite curry noodles from Kedai Kopi Ah Chow in Ipoh old town.
We also like the garlic bread from the drink section.
Due to my poor digestion or gastric problem, I have to go on a bland diet. No coffee, tea, spicy or sour food and no fried stuffs. I have to be a good girl and obey the doctor's instruction. Hopefully, I will recover soon because I am getting bored with the bland diet.

This is hubby's vertical garden project, growing lettuce.
I received some miniature purple brinjal or eggplant from a friend.
The green brinjal is from my garden.
Whenever I don't feel like going out to eat, I will think of frying rice with onions, dried shrimps and egg.
This is the City Hall in Penang.
From the internet: It was completed in 1903. This 2-storey building combines Edwardian Baroque and Palladian architectural styles. It has been listed as a national monument since 1982 under the Antiquities Act 1976. The building was last renovated between 2004 and 2005. Although the City Hall retains much of its original form, the original arcades or loggias on the ground floor have been enclosed with windows.

Let me share in the prosperity of your chosen ones.
Let me rejoice in the joy of your people;
let me praise you with those who are your heritage.

Curry Noodles, Hor Hee Noodle & Fried Rice

When I was still working, Kedai Kopi Ah Chow at 31, Jalan Bandar Timah used to be one of our regular place for breakfast. But after I have retired, I seldom go to the old town area for breakfast. Lately, hubby and I have been going back to this coffee shop for the curry noodles. Surprisingly, the quality and taste of the curry noodle is still the same after all these years.

As usual, hubby ordered dry curry noodle (yellow noodle + rice vermicelli).
For me, it is curry noodle (koay teow) - soup version.
~~~~~
I was not in the mood to cook dinner, so we went to the hawker centre in our area.
Hubby ordered a bowl of iced cendol. He forgot to mention "less sweet" and ended up with an extremely sweet iced cendol. We shared this cendol because I didn't any drink. It was too sweet for us so we didn't finish the bowl of cendol.
I ordered hor hee noodle. I requested for glass noodle but was given koay teow (flat rice noodle). I suppose the lady couldn't remember because she was manning the stall alone that evening.
Hubby ordered fried sambal rice. I took 2 mouthful and it was tasty.
Both look so real.
This is what I have asked of God for you;
that you will be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love,
and that you will have the rich experience of knowing Christ
with real certainty and clear understanding.
For God's secret plan, now at last made know is Christ himself.
Growing Japanese Cucumber & Baby Choy Sum In My Garden
Initially, there was a fine drizzle and we waited. After a while, it stopped and we started out on our morning walk.
As you can see, the Kledang Hill was covered with mist.
Update from my garden.
Japanese cucumber plant growing in a big pot.
This snapshot was taken on the 1st August, 2022.
This was on 26th August, 2022 (25 days later).
I cut off some of the lower leaves and now you can see the baby cucumbers hanging on the plant. This cucumber plant is doing well and growing fast probably due to the rainy season.
This was taken on the 6th September, 2022.
Also on the 6th September.
My first 2 fruits from my home grown cucumber plant.
The longer cucumber is more than a foot long and the shorter one is about a foot long. Hubby and I ate these cucumber raw to enjoy the natural sweetness of freshly harvested cucumbers.
Home grown Hong Kong Brassica (baby choy sum) in a tiny patch.
I took this snapshot on the 26th August, 2022.
6 days later I harvested these for dinner.
Some have started to flower.
I blanched the HK Brassica (baby choy sum) together with some remaining napa cabbage. I drizzle the remaining roasted sesame dressing on the vegetable.
Spicy dried shrimp paste (sambal belacan) fried rice with big prawns.
For more flavour or extra oomph, hubby added some chilly oil to his plate of fried rice.
This was our simple home cooked dinner.
Delicious and satisfying dinner for two.
My son, never forget the things I've taught you.
If you want a long and satisfying life, closely follow my instructions.
Never tire of loyalty and kindness. Hold these virtues tightly.
Write them deep within your heart.
If you want favor with both God and man,
and a reputation for good judgment and common sense,
then trust the Lord completely, don't ever trust yourself.
In everything you do, put God first,
and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
Fried Rice, Steamed Okra & Figs From My Garden
Our day started with a beautiful morning. Sky shots taken on our morning walk.
Sunrise at 7:16am
Sunrise at 7:32am (shops on the left side).
Sunrise at 7:52am.
That morning the above were harvest from my garden. These okra grow very fast.
This long green okra can grow to more than 1 foot long.
I steamed the harvest okra for dinner. Topped with crunchy chili and some soy sauce.
I heated up the leftover Szechuan preserved vegetable soup from the previous dinner.
Fried rice with Chinese sausage, dried shrimps, egg, onions, and salt to taste.
This was our simple home cooked dinner for 2 people.
~~~~~
Jordan Purple fig plants from my garden.
Sometimes the figs are placed far apart from each other.
Sometimes, they are placed very closed to one another.
If I am diligent in wrapping up the figs, I get to enjoy the figs.
Sorry birds, you can't have my figs.
You better go find some worms and insects and there are plenty in my garden.
A Cleome plant or spider flower sharing the same pot of one of my fig plant.

When we ask the Lord's blessing upon our drinking from the cup of
wine at the Lord's Table, this means, doesn't it, that all who drink it
are sharing together the blessing of Christ's blood?
And when we break off pieces of the bread from the loaf
to eat there together, this shows that we are
sharing together in the benefits of his body.

Butter Coffee + Toast, Fried Rice + Salted Egg Yolk Vegetables

This was in the last week of January. The sky was gloomy due to the rainy season.

7:14am, before we started on our morning walk.
After morning walk, we drove to Restoran Meng Meng Kee, Menglembu for breakfast.
We ordered unsweetened coffee (kopi-o kosong) and Chinese tea.
Ordered toast. Requested for butter and kaya to be served separately.
The reason: We wanted to use some of the butter to add to the coffee. Just a little bit, won't taste good if too much butter is added.
Hubby ordered hor hee with mung bean noodle.
I ordered 4 pieces of stuffed items without noodle.
~~~~~
For lunch, we went to Restoran Wong Sheng because we happened to be in the same vicinity.
We ordered fried rice (small portion) to share.
And salted egg yolk assorted vegetable to go with the fried rice.
~~~~~
Since we had a late lunch, we had a simple late dinner.
I cooked some instant noodle and mixed it with the chili oil which my friend gave me. Plain but yummy.

The person who has been born into God's family does not make
a practice of sinning because now God's life is in him;
so he can't keep on sinning, for this new life has been
born into him and controls him - he has been born again.
