I have to clear the meat and vegetables from the fridge before our cruise holiday. Even though it was a 5 days holiday, we want to avoid any power supply cut or failure that might cause the food to spoil. In this post, I will share the two dinners I cooked.
Sunset at 6.30 pm

1st simple home cooked dinner
I used the last piece of pork belly to make roast pork.
I gathered the remaining veggies consisting of a small piece of cauliflower, some French beans and a packet of fresh mushrooms to make a soup.
So we had roast pork and veggie soup for the 1st dinner.

2nd simple home cooked dinner
I harvested some Green Amaranth veggie from my garden. They can't wait and will be too old after I get back from the cruise holiday.
I used the Green Amaranth to cook soup with dried shrimps, garlic, ginger and egg. I also added the cherry tomatoes harvest from the garden.
I also used up the last packet of frozen prawns. I seasoned the prawns with a little sugar, salt and sesame oil before steaming the prawns. Just before removing the prawns from the steamer, I added some Chinese cooking wine, close the cover for a short while before serving the prawns.
Steamed prawns and a bowl of veggie soup each for 2 people.
Our 2nd simple home cooked dinner with some steamed Ponni rice.
We will have to replenish the freezer and veggie compartment when we return from our cruise.

Give thanks to him and bless his name.

Your home cooked meals, though simple, look very appealing to me. In a way the cruise "forced" you to cook hah..hah...
ReplyDeleteHahaha! You know me well! If not because of the cruise, I will not be so diligent in home cooking!
DeleteExcelentes fotografias e pratos deliciosos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de boa semana.

DeleteWe have to clean out our refrigerator totally when we move from Florida to Oregon in the late Spring and again in the late fall when we move back to Florida. It is hard to get it right (I always have leftover jars of mustard and sauces that are not used up.... we do have one neighbor who will take the leftovers. Your cooking looks as good as your restaurant meals always do.
ReplyDeleteSo true, sometimes we are forced to throw the leftovers. Thank you for your kind comments!
