This was the 3rd and last day in Semenyih. At about 11am, we drove out from Semenyih to Cheras. We have arranged to have lunch with elder son at Restoran Char Yoong, Jalan Peel.

Lunch At Restoran Char Siew Yoong, Jalan Peel, Kuala Lumpur
We were ahead of the peak lunch hour so we were able to get a big table to accommodate 7 of us. By about 11:45am, customers have to wait to be seated.
We ordered 2 plates of their "melt-in-the mouth" char siew.
The "melt-in-the mouth" part is actually the fat part.
1 plate roast pork with crunchy skin.
Braised chicken feet.
This may seem gross to some but this is hubby's favourite dish. This used to be a cheap dish but now it is considered a delicacy to some people.
2 bowls of sweet sour mustard green aka choy keok.
This place is known for their "melt-in-the mouth" bbq pork or char siew.
Non-stop chopping of roast pork and bbq pork.
After lunch, we were taken to K.L. Sentral where we waited for our train.
We were early so we had some time to enjoy some coffee with our friends.
Thanks to our friends for their time and hospitability during our 3D2N stay with them. Some even took leave to spend time with us.
This was a wonderful and memorable time spent with our friends and our sons.
Our train departed from KL Sentral at 3pm sharp and we reached Ipoh at about 5:45pm. We had dinner at WK Claypot Chicken rice before going home. We didn't want to wait for the claypot rice so we ordered the ready cooked dishes and rice.
Sweet sour pork rib.
Chicken curry.
Sweet sour mustard green.
This is the 2nd time we had this dish but cooked differently.
I saw this antique phone at the lobby of a hotel in Penang that we stayed in.
A new Big Apple nursery & kindergarten in our area. Not sure if this is a new extension to the existing one which is behind this building.
For you have a new life.
It was not passed on to you from your parents,
for the life they gave you will fade away.
This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ,
God's ever-living Message to men.

Crunchy Skin Roast Pork & Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun In Jelapang
The weather has been hot and humid. Today, the highest recorded temperature is about 92 deg F or 33 deg C. Last night at 10.30pm, as I was preparing this post, the temperature recorded was about 81 deg F or 27 deg C.
Sunrise at 7:30am on a Saturday morning.
7:30am on the reverse side of the sunrise.
We were driving to Jelapang for breakfast after our morning walk.
Breakfast at Restoran Fei Chai Yau, Jelapang (near the wet market).
Unsweetened coffee (kopi-c kosong).
It was so full and it spilled over by the time it reached our table.
I bought roast pork from the roast pork stall. It cost RM30 for the above (1 rib). While waiting for our noodles to be served, we ate some of the roast pork.
I ordered 2 plates of Hong Kong chee cheong fun with bbq pork and prawn filling served with sambal dried shrimp.
Inside the restaurant with ample sittings.
The place was filled up a short while after this.
This is where they make the drinks.
There are about 12 or more stalls selling different types of noodles in this restaurant.
~~~~~
Home cooked dishes for our dinner.
Sambal petai or stinky beans with sambal shrimps which we bought from Tg. Tualang. The beans were big and were cut into small pieces.
Home grown green amaranth (yeen choy).
I sauteed the green amaranth with remaining roast pork and leftover fried dace with fermented black beans to clear these from the fridge.
I found this wall mural at a school when we were in Tanjung Tualang last month.
Gulai Lemak Udang (Prawn Curry) & Roasted Pork For Dinner
We had a lovely sunrise on this particular morning.
Lovely pink sunrise.
Took these snapshots on our morning walk.
Beautiful sunrise.
~~~~~
We walked to our regular coffee shop for breakfast.
We shared a bowl of fish noodle.
Polo bun sandwich with ham and fried egg for sharing.
I ordered herbal tea and hubby ordered unsweetened coffee (kopi-C kosong).
~~~~~
After breakfast, we visited an old friend who came back from KL during the Hari Raya weeklong holiday.
We met at a food court near to her place. We ordered cold drinks and our favourite snack. The days pass by so fast and we want to appreciate every moment together.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Gulai lemak udang or Prawn curry with turmeric and coconut milk. I used belimbing buluh and pineapples. This was suppose to be a one dish dinner.
Just as I was halfway cooking the prawn curry, my neighbour handed over some roasted pork. When the prawn curry was cooked, I handed over a portion to them.
A blessing that we are neighbours.
Ixora flowers from my garden.
It was in a semi shaded place, now we have moved it to an open space without shade.

Shredded Chicken Noodle (Kai Si Hor Fun) & Roast Pork
The last time we went for our favourite shredded chicken noodle aka kai si hor fun at Restoran Pulau Sembilan, we found that a new person has taken over the stall and we didn't know where the previous one has shifted to. Then one evening while we were having dinner at a nearby restaurant, one of the staff informed us of the new location.
One morning, we decided to check out the mentioned place for the kai si hor fun stall. Yes, the information given to us was correct and we can finally enjoy our favourite kai si hor fun again. Hubby ordered 2 bowls and was informed that we have to wait for half an hour.
While waiting, we ordered a cup of unsweetened coffee (kopi c kosong) and a yam puff from one of the stall to share.
Yam puff is one of my favourite dim sum item.
We also ordered RM10 roast pork from another stall.
Finally, the kai si hor fun reached our table.
We need to loosen and stir the flat rice noodle (koay teow) to mix with the soup. This time the boss gave more soup than usual.
Very soon, the son will be taking over the business from his father.
If you are also a fan of this noodle, this is the new place at the junction where Jalan Prince and Jalan Pasir Pinji meets.
Opposite, there is another new eatery.

Christmas Blessing From Neighbour And Friend
I will start this post going back to Tuesday. It was a bright and sunny day.
Kledang Hill bathed with sunlight at 7:38am.
We returned from our morning walk and breakfast to find that the roof work had started on one of our neighbour's house.
They chose a good day to change the roof tiles.
~~~~~
I harvested some purple and green brinjals from the garden for dinner.
I cut them into thick slices, soaked in salt water. Then I drained off the salt water, sprinkled pepper onto both sides of the brinjal slices and pan fried them until cooked. I served this with some chili oil and roasted sesame dressing.
Fried a thick slice of grouper fish with fried ginger strips and soy sauce. These we ate with plain rice porridge.
~~~~~
This year I didn't make or buy any thing for Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, I received 2 items from our neighbour.
A fruit cake.
And a fruit jelly.
~~~~~
On Christmas Day, I received a message telling me to collect something from a friend (ex-colleague's house after church.
Traditional roast pork with potatoes (without oven), using her grandma's recipe. I was told to heat up and sliced the pork thinly before serving which I did as above.
And I cooked non-fried Cintan dried noodle.
Before serving, I poured the gravy over the pork and noodle.
This was our Christmas Day dinner.
There was enough leftover for the next day's dinner.
