We had a breakfast appointment with friends.
After our morning walk, we went to pick up our friends for breakfast. The first place we went to was closed. The 2nd place (popular Bercham curry noodle) we went to, there was a long queue waiting. We then drove to the Bercham Great Wall Kopitiam. The place was also packed but we managed to get a table for 4 people.
A friend and I ordered steamed rolled noodle (Hong Kong chee cheong fun). For filling, I chose prawns with celery. The sambal is very nice. Hubby and a friend ordered fried noodle. The fried noodles came late and we forgot to take snapshot. A friend bought the following cakes or kuih from another stall for us to share.
Steamed tapioca cake. We like this kuih.
Yam cake.
Pulut bakar (3 pieces, 2 eaten).
Pulut rice with grated coconut and sambal filling wrapped with banana leaf.
2 cups of hot Latte coffee and 2 glasses of warm water.
For lunch, we had groundnuts (boiled in water and salt).
For dinner, we had leftover stuffed white bitter gourd, wild boar curry bought from an Indian rice stall and home cooked broccoli with minced pork + fish paste.
Wall mural: Traditional game played by children.
We used to play this game when we were kids. I think most kids these days no longer play this game. They are more into electronic games, hardly sweating playing outdoor games.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught,
and overflowing with thankfulness.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow
and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition
and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.
(Colossians 2:6-8, New International Version-NIV)
So many delicious snacks! I love that chee cheong fun the most, Nancy. Your homemade meals are always my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteNever had tapioca cake. I need to look it up.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Thank you, Dora.
DeleteLuckily you all managed to get Breakfast At your 3rd stop. This Bercham Great Wall Kopitiam got nice food too from your photos. When I see the tapioca kuih, I think of your self made tapioca kuih. Will you be harvesting any tapioca to make kuih again?
ReplyDeleteI no longer plant tapioca now so I think I won't be making any tapioca cake for the time being. Can't eat much so might as well buy but it may not be as nice as home made.
Deletenice morning skies! wild boar curry is very appetising! nice to go with rice & noodles.
ReplyDeleteYes, hubby loves it with noodle.
DeleteGorgeous sky. And the cake looks so good and tender.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny.
DeleteLove the sky - interesting food, too! Again, so different from what we have here.
ReplyDeleteKids play with chalk big here! (To my dismay, we live ground floor and I don´t wanna have it inside... JUMP!)
Thank you, Iris. Yes, we used chalk to draw on the concrete floor or a stick to draw on the sand.
DeleteLove groundnuts boiled in water and salt. Best to cook one's own, cooked ones so expensive for so little. We call pulut bakat pulut panggang here. Love all your kuihs.
ReplyDeleteThank you, STP.
DeleteI feel like eating chee cheong fan. I love it a lot!
ReplyDeleteThe chee cheong fun here is nice.
Delete...such a beautiful start to the day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
DeleteGood morning Nancy. The steamed rolled noodle sure looks good. Steamed tapioca cake 7 yam cake looks tasty. Have a good day my friend.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Thank you, Paul. Have a good day too.
DeleteLovely mural. It's a pity the kids no longer play traditional games. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Nancy.

DeleteThe food, as always, looks amazing! Hope you are well, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Thank you, Amalia. Hope all is well with you. Stay safe.
DeleteYou have a lovely sky and delicious food! It is illegal to slaughter wild boar in this country. I adore the mural, and I completely agree with you that today's physical games are reduced to nothing more than that and that children are more adapted to gadgets than to sprinting and catching each other.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan.
DeleteAlways nice to say playing children
ReplyDeleteYes, reminds us when we were once young.
DeleteI would enjoy that type of food. Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gigi.
DeleteYummy food. I'm hungry now.

ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteThat was such a beautiful sky! Children do need to play outside more, my children got to play outdoors a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe food always looks so very good.
Good parents should make sure their children play outdoors more than indoors. Thank you, Mimi.
DeleteI judge by the coffee art, that is a good cup of coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, there are many types of coffee for coffee lovers to choose from.
DeleteAquà también te habÃa escrito un comentario. Un beso.
