After our breakfast in Kampar, we continued our journey to Teluk Intan. It was a nice, leisure drive without much traffic on the road.
We made a stop to relax and stretch our legs. As you can see from the photo, it looked hazy because of the overcast sky.
A friend pointed out to us this old police station that was left abandoned.
I took this snapshot from across the road. This old building is facing the river which is on the other side of the road.
Next, we drove to this biscuit shops to buy some biscuits and snacks.
Here are some of the stuff we bought from the biscuit shop. We bought dried prawn crackers, fried banana chips, coconut biscuits, and etc. All of them are locally made except for the coconut cookies which is made in Ipoh. We bought because it was one of hubby's favourite cookies.
I am curious about this plant in front of the biscuit shop.
Google Lens identified the above as Peanut Butter Fruits.
After the biscuit shop, we stopped here to buy boiled/steamed groundnuts.
We have plenty of time to spare, so we made another stop here by the river side.
The overcast sky blocked off the sun, so it was not very hot.
We were told that those white rectangular things on the other side of the river are fish farms.
We can see a few of them along the side of the river.
Nearby is a boat factory. Can you see the skeleton frame of a boat or trawler?
Time to get moving to Sungai Burung. We have made reservation for lunch.

Is the police station open to public? Oh, I love such abandoned places...
ReplyDeleteI am afraid not. It was an abandoned building and outside overgrown with weeds and shrubs, some even on the building itself.

ReplyDeleteDon't know why they didn't have the police station restored for something else. Actually, the one I bought is crispy heong peah skin without the caramel filling. For heong peah, I still prefer the ones in Ipoh.

I googled for more information about the peanut butter fruit. The description makes it sound tasty. I hope to be able to eat one of the fruit one day. Will you look for this peanut butter fruit tree to plant it?
I am interested in the fruit but don't know where to find the plant.
