Curry Noodles, Meat Balls, Fish Balls & Beansprout For Breakfast

This was last Sunday. We couldn't go for morning walk because there was a light drizzle.

No sunrise shot that morning because of the gloomy sky but I received a sunrise shot sent to me by a friend from Penang.
Bauhinia Kockiana blooms from my garden.

Breakfast with elder son at Curry Keng Restoran.
Both hubby and son ordered curry noodle (dry version).
I ordered curry noodle (wet version with curry broth).
I usually ordered flat rice noodle because I like the soft and silky smooth texture.
Side order: meat balls and fish balls in curry broth.
Side order: Blanched beansprouts.
Later, we will be meeting up with my sister-in-law and family for vegetarian lunch.
Back in my garden: Baby cucumber.
Because of the rainy season, my cucumber vines are not growing well.

Simple Instant Noodle With Leftovers For Dinner

On this particular morning, the sky was overcast. I managed to take the following snapshots of the sunrise shining through the dark cloud.

7:48am

This is my favourite shot.
If only I can see beyond the clouds.
Chili red hibiscus, our national flower.
Red hibiscus, a different variety.

We have leftover food from the previous day's dinner.
Minced meat + fish paste balls and bbq pork.
I cooked 2 packets of Maggi instant noodle, using only 1 sachet of flavouring just for the taste. I added some blanched home grown sweet potato leaves to the noodle.
A simple and nice dinner and I am glad that we cleared all the leftover food.

It was through what his Son did that God cleared a path
for everything to come to him - all things in heaven
and on earth - for Christ's death on the cross
has made peace with God for all by his blood.

BBQ Pork (Char Siew), Meat & Fish Balls & Blanched Beansprout

The day started with a lovely pink sky. It has been quite a while since the last time we have friends over for home cooked dinner. I sent my friend a text message asking her whether she had any plan for that evening. The answer was a "no". So I invited her over for a simple home cooked dinner and she accepted the invitation.

Melt-in-the-mouth bbq pork.
My own version of pan cooked bbq pork (char siew).
Fried minced pork + fish paste balls.
Crunchy blanched beansprouts, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
My friend contributed this home cooked fried wonton noodle with Chinese sausage and veggie.
She also contributed this fried cereal chicken.
It is good to catch up with our friends over a home cooked meal.

From my garden.
The first time I planted carrots, I managed to harvest some small stunted carrots. Hopefully, this 2nd round, I have better harvest.
This pot of Brazilian spinach has grown lush and healthy and is ready for harvest soon.

Yes, the gladness you have given me is far greater than
their joys at harvest time as they gaze at their bountiful crops.
I will lie down in peace and sleep, for though I am alone,
O Lord, you will keep me safe.

Enjoying Fried Noodles With Friends In Gunung Rapat.

It was a quiet new year day for us. After breakfast, we spent the whole day at home. We ended the first day by having dinner with friends. Since our friends have not been to this eatery before, we introduced them to the Fried Noodles Stall in Gunung Rapat. We had tasted the food once before and this time we are enjoying the food with our friends.

This place is just next to the Chinese Methodist Church in Gunung Rapat (main road). We reached the place at about 6.45 pm and there were not many people yet. But as we were eating our food, people started to fill up all the tables. We came at the right time or else we wouldn't be able to get a table and will have to wait for one.
We ordered Ice Ambra Juice with salted plum to quench our thirst.
Some Fish and Pork Balls.
Stewed Chicken Feet with Black Mushrooms.
Fried Crispy Wanton (mini dumplings).
10 pieces for MYR 3.
Wat Tan Hor (flat noodles) single portion.
Fried Mixed Noodles (double portion).
From the photo, you can see the hot steam rising up from the noodle.
Another plate of Fried Mixed Noodle (single portion).
All the above were for 4 people and this was our New Year dinner.

Here is my description of a truly happy land where Jehovah is God:
Sons vigorous and tall as growing plants.
Daughters of graceful beauty like the pillars of a palace wall.
Barns full to the brim with crops of every kind.
Sheep by the thousands out in our fields.
Oxen loaded down with produce.
No enemy attacking the walls, but peace everywhere.
No crime in our streets.
Yes, happy are those whose God is Jehovah.
