Dinner With Friends At Restoran Ipoh, Ipoh.

I have not been posting and blog hopping to visit my blogger friends regularly because I am away on a holiday. A I have been so used to my computer that I find it very inconvenient having to use my friend's laptop. Once I am back from my holiday, I will resume my regular posting and visiting of blogs. I am now using my friend's laptop to post this dinner which we have taken in Ipoh. Meanwhile, I will have to sort out my holiday's photos.

This dinner was taken with friends who was in Ipoh for a visit. We chose Restoran Ipoh because our friends have not been here before. It happened to be raining heavily that evening but we managed to get to the restoran. We were cold and hungry, and we ordered the following dishes for our dinner for 4 people.
A bowl of piping hot soup (fish balls, eggs, and wolfberry leaves aka kau kee choy) to keep us warm.
Fish cooked in assam curry - Nyonya style - very appetizing.
Bitter gourd slices and egg omelette
Stir fried Romaine lettuce with garlic
These do not seem enough, so we decided to order another dish.
We were glad we ordered this - thinly sliced pork belly steamed with salted fish and ginger strips. This dish alone will cause you to want additional helping of rice.

Simple Home Cooked Dinner & Butterfly In My Garden

This was the morning sky that greeted me about 2 weeks ago. I was locking up the gate after hubby reversed out the car from under the porch.

I cooked stewed pork belly the previous night and there was some left over. The next evening, I warmed up the remaining stewed pork belly for dinner.
I lined the bottom of the plate with cooked potato slices and steamed the pork belly over the potato slices.

You can spot the yellow pieces (cooked potato slices) underneath the pork pieces.
Steamed 2 chicken thighs - marinated with salt and Chinese cooking wine.
I cooked a small portion of rice and I took a few spoonfuls of white rice.
I didn't cook any greens because they was none in the fridge.

The following butterfly photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
I saw this butterfly fluttering in my garden and I waited for it to be still.
Photo #1 - Finally the butterfly settled on one of the leaf.
Photo #2 - Black butterfly with white dots.

It was hidden under the bougainvillea leaves and branches.

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse does not come to rest.
