Fish Noodle With Wine, Corn With Chive Fritters & Beef Burger

The day started off with a dreamy sort of morning sky.

Morning sky at 7:15am - setting out for morning walk.
Sunrise at about 7:45am
Breakfast with black coffee. Hubby bought fish noodle with wine and some stuffed bean curd sheet with fish paste. The boss gave us extra wine (in the small bowl) to add to the soup. 1 portion of fish noodle for 2 people.
Hubby's bowl.
Mine with the cut bird's eye chili to get some extra oomph to the soup.
There were 4 pieces. Someone ate one before this snapshot was taken.
~~~~~
I was feeling bored and I went to do a stock check in the fridge. I had fresh corn and flour in the fridge and Chinese chives in the garden.
Corn + Chinese chives fritters.
I removed corn kernel from 1 cob, cut some harvested Chinese chives, added a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of baking powder, all-purpose wheat flour and some rice flour (just enough flour to bind the ingredients together). Add a little water and mixed everything together before frying.
The fritters taste great with Thai sweet chili sauce. I came up with this idea of eating the fritters with home made pickled ginger. Hubby ate a few pieces. I snacked on the fritters until they were all gone.
One afternoon I heard this house sparrow chirping away on the wall outside my house. Probably trying to get the attention of its partner or friend. After a while, it was joined by another sparrow and off they flew away.
Dinner
I was still full with all the fritters that I have eaten. Since I won't be eating dinner, hubby has to go out to buy his own dinner.
He went out on his motorcycle and came back with a beef burger. He told me he saw this burger stall outside the food court and decided to eat burger. It has been a long, long time since he last ate a burger.
There was so much veggie (shredded cabbage and lettuce), it looked like a vegetable burger.
It was too big to take a bite so have to cut into halves first.
Now you can see the fried egg and the beef patty.
For a change, hubby enjoyed his simple beef burger dinner.
Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord!
How good you are! Your love for us continues on forever.
Who can ever list the glorious miracles of God?
Who can ever praise him half enough?
Papaya Soup, Yam Bean With Cuttlefish & Assam Curry Fish
On the way home from morning walk, hubby stopped at the coffee shop to buy Chinese crullers from one of the stalls to take home for breakfast.
Chinese crullers (2 yau chow kuai + 1 ham chim peng)
Left over fried tom yam noodle, heated up.
2-in-1 black coffee.
Breakfast for 2 people.
~~~~~
In my garden
2 round black purplish eggplants.
~~~~~
Simple lunch - just eat whatever is available in the house.
What we usually eat for breakfast became our lunch.
Bread for dipping into half boiled eggs for hubby.
I prefer toast with peanut jam and apricot jam.
~~~~~
Dinner
I cooked a small pot of yam bean (sengkuang) with carrot, dried cuttlefish, and etc. This is aka jiu hu char in Hokkien. Gave 1 tub to neighbour.
Soup: Papaya, carrot, corn, red dates, gojiberries, and soft bone pork.
Gave 2 portions of soup for neighbours.
1 portion for our dinner.
Neighbour ordered assam curry fish for us.
Delicious and satisfying dinner with steamed rice for 2 people.
Ending this post with an evening sky shot @ 7:30pm.
No spectacular sunset, just clouds.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega - the beginning and the end,"
says the Lord God.
"I am the one who is, who always was,
and who is still to come - the Almighty One."

Roti Telur, Steamed Sweet Potatoes & Fried Tom Yam Beehoon

We were up early and were ready to start our morning walk but the clock showed that it was not yet 7am.

Morning sky at 6:48am.
I used the time to sweep the dry leaves and flowers from my porch area.
After sweeping, I did some warming up exercise until 7am before we set out for our morning walk. We walked until 8am. That is the time when the eateries are allowed to start their business. Hubby stopped at one shop to order roti telur.
Simple breakfast for 2 retirees.
Roti telur (Indian flatbread with egg) with curry gravy and black coffee.
Toast with peanut jam and apricot jam and black coffee for me.
I wanted to finish the last 2 pieces of bread.
Red and purple bougainvillea from the same plant in a big pot from my garden.
We had steamed sweet potatoes for lunch.
~~~~~
Dinner
I fried tom yam noodle for dinner because I suddenly had a craving for it.
When the noodle was ready, I packed some for my neighbour. I had informed her earlier not to prepare dinner.
I have all the ingredients at hand: Ready made tom yam paste, pre-soaked rice vermicelli, carrot strips, pre-soaked dried shrimps, cut bird's eye chilies, cut onions, and thinly cut omelette strips as toppings and garnished with chopped spring onions. I alone can finish 2 big plates.
A pair of antique oil paper umbrellas displayed at a museum in Gopeng.
These oil paper umbrellas are used to provide shade from the sun and rain.
The LORD himself watches over you!
The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.
The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.
