Last week I received a call to meet up with a friend in Bercham. By the time we have finished with our meeting, the others left to do their chores and only a friend and I remained. I suggested going for a snack and drink at GP Food Court in Bercham.
At the food court, we just couldn't decide what to order and my friend suggested we try a newly opened shop just opposite the food court. I am always game to try new things and we walked across the road to the opposite shop.
There were many side stalls but we were interested to try the "Locomotive Seafood Restaurant' which is located at the back portion of this shop.

The restaurant is doing a 2 weeks promotion charging only RM5.00 per dish.
We ordered a plate of Fragrant pork slices (kum heong yoke in Cantonese).
It is very flavourful and tasty. Promotional rate @ RM5.00.
Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Sambal (sei tai tin wong in Cantonese).
This is also very flavourful and tasty. Promotional rate @ RM5.00.
A plate of Deep Fried Tofu with Angled Loofah.
Promotional rate @ RM5.00
Total lunch cost (inclusive of 2 plates of white rice) = RM17.20
Saturday Dinner with hubby.
Hubby and I came back to the same restaurant. Wanted to have our dinner here before attending the Saturday evening church service. We were informed that the promotional rate only applies to weekdays, excluding Saturdays & Sundays.
We ordered Steamed Red Tilapia fish with blended ginger - RM20.00
Steamed Pork Belly with Taro - RM15.00.
Taro is my favourite but the pork belly was too fat for my liking.
Total dinner cost (inclusive of 1 plate of white rice) - RM36.10
Samuel replied, "Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt
offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience?
Obedience is far better than sacrifice.
He is much more interested in your listening to Him
than in your offering the fat of rams to Him."
(1 Samuel 15:22, TLB)
The red tilapia fish with ginger must be very delicious. When I eat pork belly, I removed all the fats and not eat them.
ReplyDeleteHi Mun, I too will remove all the fat. But this time, after removing the fat, hardly any meat left!
DeleteNancy the red tilapia is interesting dish... Do you have church service on Saturdays? In Poland common is Sunday
ReplyDeleteHi Gosia, here we usually have church service on Sundays, but some churches have it on Saturdays as well.
DeleteThe first two dishes look good...was the others worth the regular price?
ReplyDeleteThe promotional dishes are worth the price. The others are almost the same price with other places.
DeleteYour foods sound very foreign to me...I live in West Texas and most of our food is very common.
ReplyDeleteThanks for always sharing your meals with us. xoxo
Hi bj, we over here gets a lot of varieties because of the multi-cultural cuisine mixture we get to enjoy.
DeleteIs eating and gardening the only things that you do? Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteHi Tom, ha ha...not really. I do a lot of other things too but I love gardening and over here we get to enjoy all kinds of food. So definitely it is easier to blog about these. Sad to say we do not have barns here, so I can't post on barns. Have a wonderful week!
DeletePlenty of choice here, and I love the name of the place, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I too like the name "Locomotive". Not a common name.
DeleteI'm always hungry when you post all the wonderful food you eat. Wow, these all look so good.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day Nancy. ☺
Thank you, Sandee. Have a great week!
DeletePromotion dishes looks good. Indeed the pork belly with taro is too fat for my liking too. These business minded people are so clever, only give promotion on weekdays cos weekends usually a lot of people are off day from the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHi Irene, ha ha...that's how the smart business people go about their business.
DeleteBlended ginger, i have not tried fish with blended ginger...
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, sometimes we have blended ginger on steamed chicken too!
DeleteEverything looked good in this restaurant. I can have them!!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, the food here is quite tasty and price quite reasonable.
DeleteNancy, you eat at the most interesting places! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am enamoured with the blended ginger sauce - will definitely try cooking something similar one of these days.
Hi Sharon, you can try blended ginger sauce on steamed chicken as well.
DeleteThe promotional rate is quite worth it. Hopefully, they did not make the portion size smaller.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about the regular portion size but I think it should be the same.
DeleteGreat promotional price, the food looks good.
ReplyDeleteThey use the promotion to pass the word around.
DeleteWow RM5 haha. The portion is smaller than for normal-priced maybe.
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy, even if the size slightly smaller, I think it is still worth the amount.
Deletethe way they served the fish is amazing! I liked it very much
ReplyDeleteThe fish is very tasty, i.e. if you like ginger.
DeletePortion is quite small but most important is the dish sedap. Good idea on giving promotional rate so that more will to try out

ReplyDeleteThat's their sales gimmick, to bring in the customers.
DeleteIt looks like a busy place!
ReplyDeleteHi William, it was very busy on the weekends, especially during dinner time.
