For our one day trip in Cameron Highlands on the 20th December 2015, our original plan was to have our dinner at Tringkap. But due to the problem we had with the car, in order to avoid the traffic jam, we decided to use the old road that leads to the lowland, Tapah.
Since we will be passing by Temoh on our way back to Ipoh, I suggested stopping for dinner there. There is a restaurant which I came to know about recently. Driving from Tapah, the restaurant is just by the main road, on the right side at the traffic light. It is easy to locate.
Even though there were many customers, we didn't have to wait very long. Here are our orders for 4 people. The photos didn't turn up well because of the dim lighting of the restaurant.
Deep fried crispy tofu but silky soft inside.
Topped with fried onions/garlic and spring onions. Oil & soy sauce.
Paku Pakis stir fried with sambal belacan (prawn paste).
Half a herbal chicken.
Deep fried prawns in salted egg batter.
All these dishes were eaten with white rice.
Restoran Nam Hing Loong, 88, Main Road, Temoh.
Tel: 05-4198336, H/P: 016-5662641
The restaurant is at the traffic light on the main road.
After dinner, we drove on and decided to stop at Gopeng to visit an elderly friend. We sat and chat awhile before we continue our journey. Upon reaching Ipoh, our friend decided to stop for supper at the New Restoran Tuck Kee.

Flat rice noodle with egg gravy (wat tan hor).
Our supper for 4 people.
Here ended our one day fruitful trip to Cameron Highland.
Fencing covered with zinc sheets.

Thank you, dear. Home made would be a healthier version and taste much better too.
DeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYummy ... my favourite dishes. I seldom eat supper but whenever we make trips back to Malaysia KL to visit my in-laws, we would always take suppers like wa tan hor, KL hokkien black noodles (fook ken chao) etc. Seeing these noodles made me hungry now ^-^
Hi Karen, so when is your next trip back to KL, Malaysia? I too seldom eat supper but only when friends are visiting with us.
DeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYou write in such a simple way yet it's so enjoyable reading what you wrote. You write very well so keep it up. Thank you for sharing so we know and get to try good food too.
I will try the dishes at this restaurant soon. I read about the tea-baked chicken in Tapah,Perak and did try it late last year. It was fresh and good!
Oh,by the way they are no longer at the old place. Now they are along the main road from the NSE exit toll leading toward Tapah town. It's on the left, next to a secondary school. There is only one small block of shop houses there and it is located at the other end of the well known Shi Zhi Wei restaurant. The shop can't be seen from the road as the land is higher than the road and a huge tree is blocking it but the tree provides very good shade. If I had not read your blog I would not have known such a chicken dish exists so thanks. Take care.
Thank you for your encouraging comment. So kind of you to inform us that the tea-baked chicken in Tapah has shifted to the main road. I will try to check it out if I do pass by that way again. Take care too.
