Dinner At Classic Dining Restaurant, Fair Park, Ipoh.

We drove to the place we wanted to have dinner but found it closed. Then my friend suggested that since we were in the vicinity, we might as well try out the new place in Fair Park. This new place is Classic Dining Restaurant, which we have passed by many times.

As we walked in, we saw a couple having dinner and we were the 2nd customers. The time was about 6.30 pm on a Friday. Looked like we were ahead of the dinner crowd. We didn't have to wait long for our food, In fact, the food was fast in arriving at our table that the photo taking will have to wait till after dinner. So first, let us enjoy all the delicious food that we have ordered for our dinner.
Ma Po Bean Curd Dish - MYR 12.90
Delicious silky smooth bean curd cooked with minced meat in spicy sauce.
Signature Braised Pork With Taro - MYR 19.90
Steamed pork belly with yam. I love yam!
Satay Chicken - MYR 23.90
Chicken cooked in satay sauce.
Stir fried 4 types of vegetables with belacan - MYR 13.90
Eggplant, French beans, Okra and Winged Beans.
White Rice - MYR 1.50 each.
Pretty plate but it was not ceramic.
We were seated next to these paintings/art pieces on the wall.
This is the Menu.
We must go back to try the dumpling (bak chang).
Below are some photos showing the interior of the restaurant.
Looking up, ceiling and lightings.
On our right, a specially decorated place with a unique table.
Very thick and long wood table and cut tree trunks as stools
This scene resembles something like the ones we see in the Hong Kong kungfu fighting movies.
Different types of ancient Chinese bronze drinking goblets for the royalties.
The entrance door and the payment counter.
As the dinner crowd started to come in, its time for us to leave.
Cuttings of newspaper reports concerning this new restaurant.
Drinks and desserts displayed on the wall.
A replica of an ancient wooden door with lion's head bronze door knockers.
Water feature with teapots and mini waterfall.
For those who are interested.
Entrance door to restaurant.
Front view of Classic Dining Restaurant.
Taken in the evening 7.30 pm, all red lanterns lighted up.

Give me your lantern and compass, give me a map.
So I can find my way to the sacred mountain,
to the place of your presence.
To enter the place of worship, meet my exuberant God.
Sing my thanks with a harp, magnificent God, my God.
(Psalm 43:3-4, The Message-MSG)

  2. This is an especially nice place, fancy too! The wood table is very impressive. I think more for art than for actually eating at, the stumps would be very uncomfortable. I love the teacups and door, the place has a very open feel to it, and the food looks great! Good thing your first choice was closed!
