The day started just like any ordinary day with a lovely sunrise.
Watching the sun rise at the park - 7.30 am.
That evening, while driving to the restaurant for dinner, we spotted smoke and thought it was some dried leaves that caught fire some distance from the traffic light junction.
We were seated in front of Kang Wan Seafood Restaurant (near Fresh Hotel, Falim) when the trees next to the smoke caught fire. Fanned by the strong wind, the fire got bigger.
The flame shot sky high and most of the people from the row of shop houses rushed out to see what was going on. Someone called the fire station.
The burning trees were near the road and cars were still passing by.
After some time, the fire seemed to have burned out by itself.
* * * * *
To avoid the ashes and dust carried by the strong wind, we moved from the front to a table inside the restaurant. We needn't have to wait long for the food to be serve as we were the early customers.

But now, as God's loving servants,
you live in joyous freedom from the power of sin.
So consider the benefits you now enjoy-
you are brought deeper into the experience
of true holiness that ends with eternal life!

The poor tree. Must have been very dry to catch fire like that.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been very dry for the past few weeks.
DeleteLucky the fire was put out soon by itself and did not get bigger, the deep fried pork knuckle sounds good.
ReplyDeleteThank God the fire didn't spread out of control.
DeleteFire must be scared...
ReplyDeleteScary if it gets out of control.
DeleteÉ sempre triste ver uma árvore a arder, aproveito para desejar uma boa semana.

Yes, so sad.
DeleteWow, it must have been a bit scary!
ReplyDeleteGood thing the fire didn't spread further.
DeleteWeathet must be too hot to have tree burning. Or someone played with fire??
ReplyDeleteDeep fried pork knuckle for me!! Hehehe.
No idea how the fire got started in the first place.
DeleteI want those crisp pork knuckles!
ReplyDeleteVery tasty!
Deleteluckily the fire was put off by itself...otherwise it would be so dangerous for the vehicles and passerby. Did the firemen drop by after that?
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, we didn't hear any sound of the fire engine siren while we were eating inside the restaurant.
DeleteInteresting post dear! Have a great week! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beauty. Have a great week too!
Delete...looks like a bit too much excitement!!!
ReplyDeleteThank God everything was under control.
DeleteWhile in Toronto, my wife & I had a Thai dinner. I loved it but my wife didn't enjoy the hot food even though the waiter only asked for the least hot food. I can take hot food but Mary Lou whose a farmer's daughter has a problem with hot food. Over all, the dinner was good. See ya Nancy.

I love spicy and hot food and I enjoy Thai food. Some people cannot take hot food, it makes their stomach uncomfortable.
DeleteWhat a shame about the fire, hopefully not too much damage. The food looked delicious, very tasty.
ReplyDeleteThank God it was not near any houses. Probably some small trees got burnt.
DeleteLa comida se ve muy buena. El fuego me da bastante miedo. Besitos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteA fire like that in a built up area can be scary!! Have a good week, Diane
ReplyDeleteYes, thank God it didn't spread any further.
DeleteEntertainment and a beautiful dinner. I'm hungry this morning.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week, Nancy. ♥
I am hungry too, just drank a cup of mocha for lunch.
DeleteThat wasn’t the usual dinner entertainment...glad no damage or injuries.
ReplyDeleteSome exciting entertainment.
DeleteThe excitement made for entertainment and a good blog post!
ReplyDeleteThough it was scary but it was something interesting to add to my post.
DeleteThe fire looks dangerous. I wonder why the fire department didn't send anyone.
ReplyDeleteProbably they were informed that the fire was no longer a danger.
DeleteQuite a fire.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fire that quickly died out.
DeleteWhat a scary moment that must have been, i'm glad it went out quickly and you got to enjoy such a nice supper.
ReplyDeleteIf the fire had got bigger, it could be very worrying for those businesses in the nearby shops.
DeleteBeautiful verse.
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear.
DeleteOh dear! That fire is scary. Good thing it was put out in time.
ReplyDeleteIf the fire has continued, we won't be able to enjoy our dinner.
DeleteThe fire and smoke are scary.
ReplyDeleteThe foods are delicious :)
If I am staying nearby, I would be very worried.
DeleteWow! You really got some action shots!
ReplyDeleteSome excitement to get us hungry enough for dinner.
