Noodle With Thick Curry Gravy & 5 Treasures Rice Porridge

This was another hot and humid day. Here are 2 sunrise shots I took on my morning walk.

We drove out to town to buy one of our favourite dry curry noodles.
Noodles + curry chicken + bbq pork with thick curry gravy (dry version). I love this dry curry noodle because of the thick curry gravy.
They were generous with the mint leaves. Hubby doesn't like mint leaves, so I had all the mint leaves.
On the way back, we stopped at one coffee shop to buy 2 types of cake. 2 pieces were eaten before I remember to take snapshots.
This is Chempedak cake. 2 pieces missing. Hubby and I took 1 piece each. I love this chempedak cake. 5 pieces in a box = RM12.
This is the Banana Cake. 5 pieces = RM8

Since the weather was hot and humid, I cooked porridge for dinner.
Blanched green vegetable (choy fah), drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I boiled rice porridge with 5 ingredients or treasures.
They were roast pork bone, peanuts, minced pork, salted egg and pickled Szechuan vegetable.

We visited the museum in the year 2015.

    I never had a banana cake. I don´t think you can buy that here.

    1. The last time I made pickled eggs was quite some time ago. Feeling lazy now. Over here it is now 32C.

    1. I use a handphone since I carry it around with me wherever I go. If you like thick curry gravy, you will love this.

  6. The dry curry noodles are very tempting with generous chunks of chicken and thick gravy. Wah! I have never eaten chempedak cake. It must be very fragrant!

  14. I wish I could easily buy Affordable cempedak cake here. The one I bought previously is by special order and costs MYR 35 nett. Makes me feel like eating dry curry Mee hoon after seeing your post. I would also love to eat your 5 treasures congee if the pork taste is not that strong. Is the pork taste strong or not?

    1. The pork taste is not strong because I used roast pork bones. I also use char choy and lots of ginger strips to cover whatever smell there might be.

  18. Ooh that thick curry gravy. All too often 'dry curry noodles' here just translates to noodles tossed in soy sauce with curry chicken on the side. Until now I think fondly of the one sold in Ipoh's Glutton square.

    1. When it is hanging down from the vine, it does look like green snakes at first glance. I think that is why it is named snake bean.

  21. It has been years I have not eaten chempedak cakes. I remembered they were very fragrant and nice. Where to find them in KL now? Hmmm

    5 treasures porridge is very heavenly. It's always healthy and good for my stomach to eat porridge.
