Sambal Prawns + Potato, Steamed Corn With Butter + Salt

It was another warm and humid day. We started out on our morning walk.

Facing the Kledang Hill. Looks hazy.
~~~~~
We stopped to buy breakfast from the usual roadside stall. We have tried the sambal chicken drumstick, so this time we tried the sambal prawns.
Nasi lemak with sambal prawns and potato for hubby.
Economy noodle with sambal prawns + potato for me.
RM6 per set (3 prawns + 2 to 3 pieces of potato)
We bought some fresh corn. I removed the kernel from the cobs.
After steaming, I stirred in some butter and salt to taste.
Steamed corn kernel for lunch.
Green brinjals and snake beans harvested from my garden to cook for dinner.
Green brinjals and snake beans cooked with sambal belacan dried shrimp.
Received some black vinegar pork trotter from neighbour. I boiled 1 salted egg and placed it on the pork trotter to avoid washing an extra plate. Lazy me!
Simple yet enjoyable dinner with steamed rice.
A friend was looking for Chinese chives.
I had 4 pots in my garden so I blessed her with 1 pot.
Your throne is founded on two strong pillars -
the one is Justice and the other Righteousness.
Blessed are those who hear the joyful blast of the trumpet,
for they shall walk in the light of your presence.
  2. Wow at your chives! Bountiful harvest! Nice! Not lazy la but is the right thing to do to save water and washing liquid to wash another plate as washing liquid is harmful to the environment, the environment will thank you for this. The prawns look big in the prawns sambal. Must be so tasty. If not very spicy, then I would love to eat this prawn sambal. Yum 😋 yummy! Is it spicy? Your vege sambal is best too!
  4. Ooooo...absolutely gorgeous, the sambal prawns. I've finished off all that I had in the freezer - in my blogpost tomorrow, so very delicious. Gotta go to my favourite fish & seafood stall to stock up on some more.
    Yet to go and buy some black vinegar pork leg - been wanting to do that but so reluctant to go out.
    1. There is a small tub of prawns in the freezer. Thinking of the increasing number of cases makes us more reluctant to go out.
    1. The green brinjals taste much softer and smoother in texture than the purple ones. Have a wonderful week.
  8. Buenos días, Nancy. Por el color imagino que el sambal, debe de ser un condimento parecido a nuestro pimentón dulce o picante.
    En cuanto a vuestros apetitosos desayunos, por Europa es impensable, ya que aquí lo tradicional para desayunar suelen ser el café y las infusiones acompañados de tostadas o de la bollería típica de cada país.
    Me encantan las manitas de cerdo, de hecho, hace dos días las comí guisadas, de forma muy diferente a las vuestras, que por cierto, me gustaría probarlas algún día.
    Un saludo, y que disfrutes de una bonita semana.
  20. Looking at your corns, it reminds me of KFC'S current craze of the Chicken skin combo. They would sell a box of mash potatoes with corns which is unique and nice.
