A friend and I had a pre CNY (Chinese New Year) shopping date last Thursday. We chose Billion Mart, Jelapang because she hasn't been there. By the time we pushed the trolley to the payment counter, the trolley was filled to the brim with mostly her stuffs. My stuffs took up only a small portion because I have been buying bit by bit on my morning walks.
By the time we carted everything into her car, it was time for a late lunch. She took me to Blackburn cafe at 45, Laluan Falim 1, Taman Falim Indah (near Aeon Big, Falim) which I haven't been to. Both of us opted for Set Lunch (includes drink and soup). No proper food description because I don't have the receipt with me. My friend insisted on picking up the tab for the lunch.
I chose hot lemon tea. If I am not mistaken my friend chose iced coffee.
Thick mushroom soup.
We ordered the above garden salad with Thai sauce to share.
My friend ordered the above (consisting of grilled chicken, spaghetti, mashed potato, fried egg with pepper sauce).
I went for the above (grilled chicken, potato fries, mashed potato, colesaw with Thai sauce). We took our time to enjoy our lunch and fellowship. When we saw that we were the last remaining customers and they were ready to close up for the afternoon session, we knew it was time to leave. Their business hours: 12pm-3pm, 6pm-10pm.

After a good trimming, my hibiscus plant is flowering again.
The trimming has encouraged more branches.
More branches means more flowers.
"Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches.
Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit.
For apart from me you can't do a thing.
If anyone separates from me,
he is thrown away like a useless branch, withers,
and is gathered into a pile with all the others and burned.
(John 15:5-6, The Living Bible-TLB)
...the salad and the hibiscus look wonderful on this cold and snowy day.

ReplyDeleteI see a lot of people at the shops, buying like crazy...roads all over town so jammed - a lot have come home, it seems. We have not done much shopping for Chinese New Year ourselves as we are well-stocked all throughout the pandemic, never short of anything...plus we shall not be celebrating, keeping it low key, all to ourselves.
Thank you, STP. The only preparation I did was make an effort to spring clean my house because it needs one badly. I bought a few type of CNY snacks which we like, and stock up on my fridge because the shops will be closed for 5 to 6 days.
DeleteIt sounds like a lovely day with your friend, and ended with a beautiful sunset.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi.
