Since we are in Butterworth, our friends took us to Sunway Carnival Mall for a look around after our lunch at Ong Cheng Huat Seafood Restaurant. The first thing that caught my eyes were the Christmas decorations.
This view was taken from the floor above.
Looks like a Fairy land theme.
Lots of flowers and butterflies decorations.
Elf house and mushrooms.
There is also a deer.
More flowers and...
Bees too....
After Sunway Carnival Mall, we were taken across the bridge to check into the hotel.

We prefer hawker food for dinner, so our friends suggested going for prawn noodle. The eatery is quite near to the hotel so we walked to avoid searching for parking space. There was a slight drizzle so we were walking with our umbrellas. When we reached, we found the place closed, so we open for the nearby eatery.
We ordered 2 plates of oyster omelette or or chien in Hokkien.
Hubby ordered the above jawa mee but it turned out to be a great disappointment.
Penang lobak which was not up to our expectation.
Penang char koay teow which was quite tasty.
The peanut sauce with hardly any peanuts.
This is the first time that we were disappointment with the food we ordered. Surprising, the place was crowded and customers have to wait for tables. It could be that our expectation was too high or the food was not up to our Ipoh taste.

After dinner, we walked with our umbrella to the nearby1st Avenue Mall as it was too early to go back to the hotel. Glad to see more Christmas decorations.
View from the floor above.
If you are tired, you can sit here and rest awhile.
Santa Claus flying in his sleigh.
Early morning view outside the window at 4:10am.
I was awoken by the sound of TV at 3am. Hubby wanted to watch football but he couldn't find the right channel on the hotel TV. Hubby went back to sleep but I was wide awake by then.
So, to while away the time, I read the news and played games on my hand phone. I managed to get about half an hour of sleep before going down for our morning walk.
An old fashioned door and windows of a house in Penang.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse
so that there will be food enough in my Temple;
if you do, I will open up the windows of heaven for you and
pour out a blessing so great you won't have room enough to take it in!

Wow! I like the decorations - floral theme. The mee jawa didn't look too good. It's a pity that the food was below par.

DeleteThank you Nancy. Good to see both malls have Xmas decorations to put shoppers into a festive mood. The Mee jawa is too watery but I would love to eat the chicken satay because I don't like to eat fatty meat, prefer lean meat. Did you go to Queensbay mall in pg?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. No, we didn't visit any other malls because we don't have the time.
DeleteMy vote is for the elf house theme in the first mall - feel like a kid again looking at those.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacy. I feel the same too.
