Brunch At Peranakan Place, Jonker Street, Malacca

We have been keeping tabs on the Covid-19 daily updates because we didn't want to get stuck in Johor. On the morning of our departure, we started our journey early with the intention of having brunch in Malacca. We reached Jonker Street about 10:30 am. It was quiet without the tourist crowd.

We picked Restoran Peranakan Place to have our brunch.
Little Nyonya
3 bowls of yummy-licious Cendol with cream corn.
I am missing Malacca's delicious cendol.
2 bowls of Nyonya laksa.
One for our friend.
And one for me.
Hubby ordered nasi lemak with beef rendang.
The cendol half filled our tummies and we could barely finish our laksa and nasi lemak.

After brunch, we took a walk along Jonker street.
We crossed over the Malacca river.
We can spare some time for some snapshots.

All distance in Malacca city is measured from this point.
After taking some snapshots, we went shopping for biscuits and palm sugar.
Stopped by a few biscuit shops to buy some snacks.
Nice packaging for Betehso biscuit or heong peah.
Air plants for sale.

I passed by here, saw this on my left, quickly took a snapshot before rushing to catch up with the others.

God has given each of you some special abilities;
be sure to use them to help each other,
passing on to others God's many kinds of blessings.

We set out for our morning walk at about 6:20 am. Sometimes, a lone jogger will pass us by.

Looking up, I saw that the moon was obstructed by clouds at 6:21 am.
A full moon and blue sky at 6:45 am.

Lunch At Dong Cafe, Ipoh.

How does it feel on the first day of the New Year 2019? To me, it is just like any normal day.

Two weeks ago in the middle of December last year (sounds like a long time ago), hubby returned home from work and asked me out for lunch. I remembered Dong Cafe and quickly mentioned this place. My friends and I went once but turned out it was their off day. There is a side entrance to the cafe which is on the right and a gift shop on the left. Visitors can shop at the gift shop. The handicrafts are made by Persatuan DAYBREAK, a vocational training centre for People with Disabilities.

Okay, back to the Dong Cafe. We ordered the following for our lunch. Anything spicy such as Chicken Rendang and Nyonya Laksa always attract me.
Signature Blue Rice with Nyonya Chicken Rendang @ RM 22.00
Nyonya Laksa @ RM 16.00
It was served with a calamansi lime in a cute "duck" saucer.
Squeeze and add the calamansi juice for the extra omph!
Just looking at this picture makes me drool.
Bubur Cha Cha @ RM 5.00
Thick coconut milk and generous amount of ingredient.
Next visit, hope the ingredient will be softer.
Earl Grey Supreme Tea @ RM 9.00
Request for hot water unlimited.
Total cost for lunch - RM 52.00

For God says, "Your cry came to me at a favourable time,
when the doors of welcome were wide open.
I helped you on a day when salvation was being offered."
Right now God is ready to welcome you.
Today he is ready to save you.
