Flowers From Penang Hill

Here is one more post from Penang Hill, and it is all about flowers and my friend's pet cat.
Pink hibiscus flower.
Tobouchina flowers
Heliconia rostrata flower
Coloured leaves
White lilies
Canna flowers
Don't know the name of these flower.
Edible Torch ginger (bunga kantan in Malay)
Bunga kantan buds.
Recently, a friend sent me the following photos of her pet cat.
This lady really knows how to pose for the camera.
Look how she placed her left paw on her leg.
I just found out that her name is Squeks.
Then she pulled her tail to look more ladylike and decent.

Sky watching On Penang Hill

Normally, when we look down from Penang Hill, we will get a nice, clear view of Penang city but it was not so while we were up there.
Even though the previous day's downpour has helped to clear a bit of the haze, we only got a blur vision.
Thank God, the monsoon season has started and we hope the rain will wash away the haze soon.
Enjoying the nature in Penang Hill.
Nice and cool under the shady trees.
Lovers lane, anyone wants to take some photos here?
Cute bumble bee with a pair of binoculars.
You will need to pay RM 10 to have your photo taken here.
"Sky Walk" Bukit Bendera - official opening on 8th Februari 2015.
This sky walk is not scary, as long as I do not go too near the edge or look down.  Let's go take some snapshots.
Welcome to Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera).
 Nice garden for photography
Lotus pond in front of the restaurant.
Can you spot the little insects captured in this photo?
These trees shaded us from the hot sun.
Bird's-nest fern growing on the tree branch.
Staghorn fern growing on this tree trunk.
If not for the haze, this will be a beautiful view.

Penang Hill - My 2nd Visit

We have decided to visit Penang Hill instead of spending time window shopping in one of the shopping malls in Penang. First thing on our mind after leaving the apartment is to fill our tummies with breakfast.
Prawn noodle, fried noodle (Penang char koay teow), curry noodle and etc.
The prawn noodle was delicious and so was the above curry noodle.
Here we are at the base of Penang Hill. This is my 2nd visit to Penang Hill after many years after the 1st visit.
The above sculpture is made from disused parts of funicular system. This sculpture comprises 20 numbers of shifter wheels, 70 metres of wire rope and 18 metres of rail track. Accentuated with fused colour glass - LLA Fuan Wong Collaboration.
We bought tickets and entered this passageway.
We seniors have special ticket discount.
Picture of the old coach.
Bellevue Hotel, Penang Hill.
Shutter service.
We wanted to try this "Penang Best" char koay teow (fried flat rice noodle).
This is his simple stove.
We sat opposite this cafe in the open air.
We ordered 2 plates of Penang fried noodle with prawns to share. We are leaving space in our tummies for some delicious sweet desserts.
This fried noodle is indeed very special because it was served with some crispy bits. To me the crispy bits look like deep fried chicken skin.
The old coach on display.
Another cafe enjoying beautiful sky view.
We had a hard time choosing from these beautiful and tempting varieties.
Ice cream in cone.
These were for 6 people to share.
Ice kacang with assorted ingredients with 1 scoop ice cream.
Sweet mango with 1 scoop ice cream.
Sweet mango with 1 scoop ice cream.
Going downhill - we chose the first coach to get a better view.
Reaching the short tunnel.
It was a pleasant and enjoyable ride both ways.

Before I end the post, here are some night scene photos taken the night before at the beach in Jelutong.
Walking along the beach walkway.
Beautiful sculpture.
Night scene of Penang from our apartment room window.
