Shredded Chicken & Curry Noodle, Bak Kut Teh And Fruits

Hubby and I have our own favourites when it comes to eating out for breakfast.

Shredded chicken with flat rice noodle or kai si hor fun is one of hubby's favourite noodles. The seller will add in the chicken liver for hubby and sometimes when he scoops the soup onto the noodle, hubby gets a few pieces of dried scallops too. The seller uses dried scallops as one of the ingredients for boiling the soup. I like this noodle but I do not eat it as often as hubby does.
One of my favourite noodle is curry noodle. There are a few places that serves good curry noodles. I like the soup version while hubby likes the dry version. I will only order the dry version when we eat at Yee Fatt Tea House, Kampar Road, Ipoh which is famous for their Yee Fatt Dry Curry Noodles.
We love local fruits such as the above Jackfruit. Once in a while, we get blessed with Jackfruit from our friend's garden but most of the times, we buy from a roadside stall in our area.
I was blessed with 2 home grown avocado from a friend. I was told to keep the fruits for about a week before consuming them.
About a week later, one of the avocado turned to this colour.
I cut it open and dug out the big seed.
I scooped out the flesh and spread some on a cream cracker.
It was nice with the cracker but I prefer eating it as it is, on its own.
For dinner, I boiled Bak Kut Teh or Meat Bone Herbal Tea.
Ingredients used: 1 big packet of Chinese herbs bought from the Chinese medical shop, 1 pig stomach, pork ribs, Shiitake mushrooms, and tofu puffs bought from Bentong.
We had steamed rice with the bak kut teh and home made pickled ginger and pickled belimbing buluh.
One morning while walking home from our morning walk, I saw something that gave me a scare. When I saw this from afar, it looked like someone was hanging from the branch of this tree. As we got nearer, we saw that it was a shirt used to wrap a Jackfruit. Good thing, I saw this in broad daylight and not when it was dark.
Photos credited to Shirley who shared these 2 photos with me. At first glance I thought it was a feather or a dried flower. I used Google Lens to identify this funny looking insect. The nearest I could find is the Arctornis l-nigrum moth. Please let me know if it is something else.
This one looks really cute. It looks like an old man with yellow face, 2 eyes, long hairy pointed ears and long white beard. I have not come across such funny looking insect before. Through the sharing of photos, we get to see and learn new things.

Yes, if you want better insight and discernment, and are
searching for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure,
then wisdom will be given you and knowledge of God himself;
you will soon learn the importance of reverence
for the Lord and of trusting him.

Curry Noodle & Hakka Noodle For Breakfast At Lee Kitchen, Ipoh.

We haven't been to Lee Kitchen for 3 whole years. Recently a friend went there for breakfast and gave good review of the curry noodle that they have tasted. One morning we couldn't go for morning walk because it was drizzling, so we went to Lee Kitchen for breakfast.

It was early so the tables were not fully occupied.
We ordered a cup of unsweetened coffee.
While waiting for our orders, I bought 2 pieces of chai kuih (yam bean dumplings).
2 pieces of Chinese doughnuts (you tiao) for takeaway.
A bowl of curry noodle with flat rice noodle (koay teow).
For RM7, there is a lot of ingredients in this bowl of curry noodle (bbq pork, roast pork, tofu puff, a fish ball, a meat ball, pig's skin and etc.)
Hakka noodle with minced pork.
Meat balls and pork tendon ball.
Fried stuffed bean curd sheet items.
I think this is about RM6+.
By the time we finished our breakfast and was about to leave, all the tables were occupied.
There are many other stalls waiting for us to try.

Thanks for sharing a snapshot of the above beautiful moth

For if we are faithful to the end,
trusting God just as we did when we first became Christians,
we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

Kampua Noodle With Minced Pork + Diced Mushroom Topping

This was last Monday. When we work woke up, it was still drizzling.

I went out to check at about 7:20am and found that the drizzling has stopped.
I went in to inform hubby and to change into my walking attire.
Surprise that the moon was still visible at the time.
This is the best I can manage with my old phone camera.
Up on my right, this mourning dove was making its "coo, coo" sound.
~~~~~
We had the following for dinner.
I used the last 2 remaining dried kampua noodle that my son bought in Sitiawan to cook for dinner.
I cooked minced pork with diced mushrooms with chopped garlic, oyster sauce, dark and light soy sauce, salt & sugar to taste. Before serving, mix the noodle with topping.
Steamed home grown long green okra or ladies finger and topped with crunchy chili oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Chinese sausages, sliced and pan fried.
Simple and satisfying dinner for 2 people.
My dear friend shared with me this photo of a moth that she found in her garden.
Photo credited to Maguerita.
Using Google Lens, it looks like the Slug Moth.
Can someone please help to identify this moth? Thank you.
Beware of false teachers who come disguised as harmless sheep,
but are wolves and will tear you apart.
You can detect them by the way they act,
just as you can identify a tree by its fruit.
You need never confuse grapevines with thorn
bushes or figs with thistles. Different kinds of fruit trees
can quickly be identified by examining their fruit.
Chee Cheong Fun With Shrimp Paste or Hae Ko
This was last Saturday. I am a week late in my posting.
Overcast sky at 7am.
Mist covered Kledang Hill - 7:03am.
Sun blocked by clouds - 7:20am.
A day with overcast sky.
~~~~~
Hubby missing his favourite steamed rice noodle (chee cheong fun) from Canning Garden.
We went to buy take-away 2 portions of chee cheong fun and 4 pieces of fried crunchy beancurd sheet.
Hubby's chee cheong fun with sesame seeds, fried crispy shallot + oil, and soy sauce. Later, all the pickled green chili will go to my plate.
I will usually order the same as hubby's chee cheong fun but this time I wanted to try adding some shrimp paste (hae ko in Hokkien). Penang version has a darker shrimp paste, this is a paler version.
We love to munch on these crunchy beancurd sheet.
Both chee cheong fun with or without shrimp paste taste great.
~~~~~
Simple lunch
Red dragon fruit, pear and few pieces of leftover stuffed items.
I remember the first time I ate a whole big red dragon fruit. I noticed my urine was reddish in colour and I thought there was blood in my urine. I was really worried and was thinking of going to the clinic. So relieved when I realized it was due to the dragon fruit and save me the trip to the clinic. The next day, the colour was back to normal.
Finally, we managed to clear the leftover stuffed items.
Pear for hubby because hubby doesn't like dragon fruit.
Fresh, sweet and juicy red dragon fruit.
A pretty moth on my Coleus.
This is my first time seeing this moth in my garden.
Don't hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths
and corroded by rust or - worse! - stolen by burglars.
Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth
and rust and burglars. It's obvious, isn't it?
The place where your treasure is,
is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.
Chicken Herbal Soup & Fried Rice For Dinner
Time really flies. Even though we are under MCO, the days, weeks, and months seems to pass by so quickly. Even though there is nothing exciting happening, I wouldn't say that life is boring for us. Every morning we look forward to our morning walk. After breakfast, I will spend some time in the garden. Housework, blogging and blog hopping, and etc. will take up a portion of my time. The amount of tasks accomplished will depend on my mood. It all depends on whether I am diligent or in lazy mode. Okay, back to my post.
Sunrise at 7:10am
7:15am
We need to take the car out because we want to buy takeaway breakfast with the food carrier.
Hakka noodle with stewed sweet sour pork trotter for hubby @ RM5.80
Mee sua with pork + daikon + peppercorn soup for me @ RM5.
Both the noodles were bought from the same stall.
 4 pieces of yam bean fritters @ 90 cents per piece.
We bought these from another shop.
We kept these for our lunch.
When it comes to food, so thankful that we are spoiled for choice.
Steamed fresh corn mixed with butter and salt for lunch.
Dinner
Herbal chicken soup
Ingredients used: 1 free range chicken, yuk chuk (Solomon's seal), goji berries, and red dates.
Fried Rice with onions, dried shrimps, and eggs.
I don't have leftover rice in the fridge so I pre-steamed the rice in the afternoon.
Condiments: Bird's eye chilies in soy sauce and spicy dried shrimp.
I love fried rice with chilies in soy sauce.
Because of his kindness,
you have been saved through trusting Christ.
And even trusting is not of yourselves;
it too is a gift from God.
Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done,
so none of us can take any credit for it.
