Kampua Noodle With Minced Pork + Diced Mushroom Topping

This was last Monday. When we work woke up, it was still drizzling.

I went out to check at about 7:20am and found that the drizzling has stopped.
I went in to inform hubby and to change into my walking attire.
Surprise that the moon was still visible at the time.
This is the best I can manage with my old phone camera.
Up on my right, this mourning dove was making its "coo, coo" sound.
~~~~~
We had the following for dinner.
I used the last 2 remaining dried kampua noodle that my son bought in Sitiawan to cook for dinner.
I cooked minced pork with diced mushrooms with chopped garlic, oyster sauce, dark and light soy sauce, salt & sugar to taste. Before serving, mix the noodle with topping.
Steamed home grown long green okra or ladies finger and topped with crunchy chili oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Chinese sausages, sliced and pan fried.
Simple and satisfying dinner for 2 people.
~~~~~
My dear friend shared with me this photo of a moth that she found in her garden.
Photo credited to Maguerita.
Using Google Lens, it looks like the Slug Moth.
Can someone please help to identify this moth? Thank you.

Beware of false teachers who come disguised as harmless sheep,
but are wolves and will tear you apart.
You can detect them by the way they act,
just as you can identify a tree by its fruit.
You need never confuse grapevines with thorn
bushes or figs with thistles. Different kinds of fruit trees
can quickly be identified by examining their fruit.

Braised Pork Belly Slices & Steamed Okra

The weather forecast warns of thunderstorm usually in the afternoon. Most times, there will be thunderstorm but usually in the late afternoon or evening. Our mornings are usually sunny and warm.

One of the morning skys.
~~~~~
Fruit of labour from my garden.
3 green brinjals (eggplants), 1 red okra (ladies finger) and 1 tomato.
No more worms in the tomatoes after wrapping them with recycle plastic bags.
This is the Grand Roma Round tomato.
Since the tomatoes ripen one or two at a time, I eat them raw, fresh from the garden.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner for 2.
Initially, I wanted to make deep fried pork belly slices with the above braised pork belly. I changed my mind after frying a few pieces in the oil. The oil was splattering all over that I have to cover the pan. In the end, I steamed the pork belly slices and served with garlic crisp.
I used Thai sweet chili sauce as dipping sauce for the steamed pork belly. For the green, I steamed long green okra (ladies fingers) from my garden and topped with garlic oil and crunchy chili oil.
Home grown tomato to be eaten raw.
Love the fresh juicy and succulent thick flesh of the tomato.

And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts,
living within you as you trust in him.
May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love;
and may you be able to feel and understand,
as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep,
and how high his love really is;
and to experience this love for yourselves,
though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or
fully know or understand it.
And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

Sweet Sour Pork Rib Wonton Noodle & Home Cooked Dinner

Before I start on my post, I want to share something with you. When we reached home after our morning walk this morning, I didn't notice anything amiss. It was only when I was harvesting the Green Amaranth from the small vegetable patch in front of my house, I noticed an empty space which was supposed to be occupied by a pot of blooming "Crown of Thorns".

Crown of Thorns
At first, I stared at that empty space for a while before I realized that my pot of "Crown of Thorns" was missing. Someone must have used a motorcycle or a car to cart it away because it was not a small or light pot which you can carry it with both hands and walk away with it.

I have read of cases of people stealing pots of plants from shop front or from their neighbours and it looks like this offence or habit of taking things that do not belong to them is becoming a new normal for some people.

Instead of being angry, I actually felt sorry for that person. If he or she has been caught in a CCTV camera by someone else, the video of the theft could have been shared on the social media. Okay, enough of this unfortunate incident that happened this morning. Now back to my post.............

Once in a while, we will drive out to town for our favourite wonton noodle at Restoran Memorable Good Taste, Jalan Theatre, Ipoh.
This restaurant is near to this Octagon Building in Ipoh new town.
To avoid being disappointed, we usually go early to make sure the food is not sold out.
This is a husband and wife team.
As usual, we ordered 2 sets of the above.
Each set consists of a small bowl of sweet sour pork rib,
A bowl of wonton (dumplings) and we added a sui kao dumpling.
And a plate of fine wonton noodle with beansprouts.
The lady boss is also very generous with the pickled green chilies.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
I needed to clear some of the vegetables harvested from my garden.
Omelette with long beans and Chinese chives from my garden.
Home grown long green okras, blanched and served with crunchy chili oil.
Minced pork + fish paste patties, cut into small pieces.
Dinner for 2 people with plain brown porridge.
We couldn't finish the omelette, so I kept whatever was left for the next day lunch.
Pay all your debts except the debt of love for others -
never finish paying that!
For if you love them, you will be obeying all of God's laws,
fulfilling all his requirements.
Fried Fish With Ginger Strips & Stewed Duck
My plants are well watered by the daily rain. It rains usually in the evening. Even at this moment, the sky is gloomy and rain is expected anytime.
Some photos from my garden.
Flower buds from the long green okra or ladies fingers in my garden.
Time to harvest this very long green okra.
Wow! It is about 14 inches long.
This is one of the longest okras from my garden.
I missed this one. It is too old and no longer edible. So when it is dried up, I will use the seeds for future sowing.
~~~~~
Home cooking to be continued in order to clear the stock from the fridge.
Deep fried Grouper fish slice with lots of ginger strips.
Stewed duck with ginger.
We bought a pack of ready cooked stewed duck.
Took out half the portion and steamed for dinner.
Sauteed mixed vegetables with garlic and salt.
All were picked from my garden. Combination of small white bitter gourd, long beans, green brinjals (eggplants) and ladies fingers (okras).
This was our dinner for 2 people on a cool, rainy evening.

He waters the furrows with abundant rain.
Showers soften the earth, melting the clods and
causing seeds to sprout across the land.
Then he crowns it all with green, lush pastures in the wilderness;
hillsides blossom with joy.

Mee Jawa, Yam Bean Fritters & Steamed Chicken

This was a Wednesday, 2 weeks ago. It was another day with gloomy sky.

Sunrise at 7:45am.
For breakfast, hubby went out to town to buy mee jawa.
I thought of buying fried noodle but the stall was closed.
So, we drove back to our own place to buy my favourite - yam bean fritters. I bought 4 pieces at 90 cents per piece.
We also bought the above - 3 pieces for RM5.
From top clockwise: siew pau, curry puff and yam puff.
We shared the above for lunch. I cut everything into halves.
From top clockwise: yam puff, siew pau & curry puff.
We had the above for breakfast and lunch.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Steamed free range chicken (half a chicken) with tong kuai slices, ginger slices, red dates, and goji berries. This time I forgot to add in home made glutinous rice wine.
Steamed home grown green brinjals and purple brinjals, sprinkled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Steamed home grown snake beans and ladies' fingers, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I didn't want any rice, so I cooked 1 packet of Indomie instant noodle for hubby. Add a spoonful of spicy dried shrimp chili to the noodle.
The above 2 big plates of vegetables were the reason why I didn't want any rice.
~~~~~
From my garden.
I was watering my plants when I spotted these big grasshoppers.
One was piggybacking on the other.
These 2 were big grasshoppers. They weren't there when I went to check in the evening. They were probably paying a visit to my garden

Dear brothers, you are people who do not belong to this world.
You are like visitors who are on a journey.
I beg you, do not do the things your body wants to do.
Those things fight against your soul.
