Pot Bless Lunch To Celebrate The 1st Day Of New Year 2020

There is no grand celebration for the 1st day of New Year 2020. We started off the new year with a pot bless gathering in my house. My friend and I came up with some nice home cooked food for the 4 of us. I cooked 3 items and my friend contributed 2 items for our new year lunch.
My 1st dish - Black Vinegar Pork Leg with wood fungus and lots of ginger slices.
My 2nd dish - Stewed Chinese cabbage with nam yue (fermented bean curd).
My 3rd dish - Egg omelette with chopped kale.
My friend bought the kale and gave half to me.
Dish cooked by my friend - Sliced arrow head stewed with minced pork and kale.
My friend also bought some roast pork and sausage from the market.

We had a very satisfying and filling lunch without any rice.
After washing up, we went to a shopping mall to walk off some calories.
As usual, I am drawn to this pillar aquarium with live fishes swimming in it.
I was happy taking snapshots while my hubby and friends shopped.
I don't know the name of these fishes.
Some stopped to watch the fishes but I was the only one taking pictures.
Hubby and friends joined me after their shopping.
I enjoyed watching the fishes swimming graciously in the water.

Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity.
Live generously and graciously toward others,
the way God lives toward you."

Year End Pot Bless Celebration For SG Gathering.

End of last month, we had a year end pot bless celebration at one of the Small Group member's house. Every member came up with something to contribute to the pot bless dinner. I quickly took snapshots of all the food items before we sat down for a time of Praise and Worship unto our Lord, Jesus Christ. After giving thanks and blessing of the food, everyone was ready to tuck in these yummy food!
We opted for the easy way because I have no idea what to cook. We bought a Roasted Duck.
The highlight of the dinner was this Hainanese Poached Chicken dish. Hainanese chicken rice specially prepared for 14 people.
A pot of specially prepared chicken rice.
The whole car was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of the chicken and rice.
Home cooked Mixed Vegetarian dish.
A member bought this Vegetarian Bean Curd Roll.
Another home cooked Mixed Vegetable dish.
The member who cooked the Mixed Vegetarian dish also made this Fried Balls With Coconut Filling.
Another member made this healthy Baked Spring Rolls.
And finally 2 combs of Bananas to round up the dinner.
A wonderful pot bless dinner to end the Small Group Gathering for 2016. The gathering will resume in the new year after the Chinese New Year 2017 celebration.
