Steamed Chinese Pomfret Fish & Sengkuang Cooked With Pork Strips

On Sunday morning, I was bored with noodles so I told hubby I will walk over to the dim sum restaurant near my house to buy the following items back and brought them to our regular coffee shop.

#1 - Baked bbq bun for me.
#2 - Steamed bbq bun for me.
2 fishballs: 1 for me and 1 for hubby.
Hubby bought a piece of Chinese cruller and Chinese fried doughnut for himself (no photo to show). We ordered unsweetened milo for me and Chinese tea for hubby.
Beautiful altar flowers at the church on Sunday.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
To clear the stock from the freezer, I will try to prepare home cooked lunch and dinner for both of us.
Steamed 2 slightly bigger than palm size Chinese pomfrets.
I have 2 more Chinese pomfrets in the freezer for the next meal.
Yam bean and carrot strips cooked with pork strips.
I bought the yam bean thinking I will be making pie tee shells for the new year but it was not to be.
Chinese or Lunar New Year greeting from Eu Yang San Medical hall in Ipoh old town.
The new and the old.
Saw this 90's Classic Barber Shop at the side of a corner shop which was recently renovated.
When someone becomes a Christian,
he becomes a brand new person inside.
He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!
All these new things are from God who brought us back to himself
through what Christ Jesus did.
And God has given us the privilege of urging everyone
to come into his favor and be reconciled to him.
Dine Out With Friends At Restoran Wong Sheng, Ipoh
Since we had food in the fridge, we returned home for breakfast after our morning walk.
Sunrise at 7am.
I put water to boil to make hot drink and re-steamed the buns given by our neighbour.
We also had vegetarian roll which I bought from a roadside stall.
~~~~~
It was our dine-out night with friends. If we don't have any new suggestion, then we go back to one our favourite eateries. So back to Restoran Wong Sheng in Desa Rishah, Ipoh.
Fried Tilapia fish with special savoury sauce.
This is one of their signature dish.
Steamed taro with pork belly.
This is also their signature dish, a hot selling item.
Assorted vegetable with salted egg yolk.
The crispy lotus root slices is our favourite item.
Food is good and price reasonable.
I think for our next visit, we must make a point to order other new dishes to try instead of these same dishes.
Open air seating when the weather is good.
Evening sky at 7:45pm.

The above mural of a cat and a mouse is drawn on a school wall in Tanjung Tualang, Perak.

Linking to Monday Mural.

Blessed is the Lord, for he has shown me that
his never-failing love protects me like the walls of a fort!

Yam With Pork Belly For Dinner

This was a lovely Sunday morning.

I was just in time to capture the sun coming up from behind the hard cloud.
Sunrise at 7:25am
Floating white fluffy clouds at 7:27am.
Nice clear and blue sky.
Walking out to the nearby shops to buy breakfast.
I bought my favourite snacks: Rempeyek and muruku.
Hubby bought hum chim peang and ma keok for himself.
We also bought 2 steamed bun (nam yee pau).
The cream crackers and jam was for me.
Purple bougainvillea in front of a house.
More flowers than leaves.
This is my purple bougainvillea plant with variegated leaves in front of my house.

Dinner
Sometimes, I couldn't think of what to cook. Actually, I was thinking of yam with pork belly. The last time we had this was in April this year when we were able to dine-in with our friends. That was before the full lockdown.
I called up the restaurant to order 2 portions of yam with pork belly (about RM18 per portion). I gave 1 portion to our neighbour.
I only cooked the above dish: cabbage, carrot, 2 ladies fingers and spring onion from my garden.
The above photo of the old Lido cinema was taken in 1957.
This image was on display at the UTC Ipoh in 2015.
The Lido cinema is no longer in operation but the building remains.

Even when we are too weak to have any faith left,
he remains faithful to us and will help us,
for he cannot disown us who are part of himself,
and he will always carry out his promises to us.

Soy Sauce Prawns & Blanched Baby Chinese Kai Lan

This was one of those days with gloomy sky.

I managed to take a snapshot of this sunrise at 7:10am before it disappeared behind the clouds.
~~~~~
After morning walk, I took out our breakfast from the fridge to steam.
The sponge cake and 4 bbq pork buns were from our neighbour.
Hot milo for hubby and black coffee for me.
Sweet fragrant Gardenia from my garden.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Pan fried soy sauce prawns.
Blanched baby Chinese kai lan, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Deep fried potato wedges, using 2 remaining potatoes before they start to sprout shoots.
Delicious dinner on a cool evening.
Sun setting behind the hills at 7:13pm.

I am the LORD, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,
so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the LORD, and there is no other.

Steamed Curry Buns, Herbal Chicken Soup & Sauteed Snake Beans

Bored with the recent dull and gray sky of rainy days, I went through the archive and found the following sky shots which were taken on the last day of June, 2021.

Sunrise at 7am.
On the reverse side, view of Kledang Hill at 7:05am.
Sunrise at 7:07am.
Sunrise at 7:10am.
Sunrise at 7:14am.
Sunrise at 7:14am.
Sunrise at 7:15am.
~~~~~
On this Wednesday morning, we didn't buy anything for breakfast because we had 4 steamed buns in our fridge which our neighbour bought for us.
While the buns were steaming in the steamer, I make milo for hubby and Bru coffee for myself.
Soft and fluffy steamed buns with curry chicken and potato as filling.
~~~~~
From my garden.
Peace lily bud.
White spathe and beige spadix.
From white and beige, it slowly turned to light green.
It will remain like this before it dries up.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Herbal Chicken soup.
Free range chicken with Chinese dried herb (yuk chuk), red dates and goji berries.
Sauteed French beans and home grown snake beans with garlic, dried shrimp and chilies.
This was our dinner with steamed rice on a rainy evening.
Peace Lily plants grown in a pot.
My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
