After morning walk, we stopped at one of our regular coffee shop for breakfast.
Our favourite shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
Can you see the bits of dried scallops used for boiling the soup?
While having breakfast, 4 Common Myna birds were playing or fighting on the road. They were making a lot of noise.

I had lunch with 2 sisters at
Different Taste, #72, Persiaran Bercham Selatan 2, Bercham.
My sister was looking forward to enjoy the above: Crab with glass noodle. The cook weighed a crab and informed us the price: RM99. So the above dish cost RM99 (approx. 22usd). I should have push the glass noodle aside to take a good snapshot of the size of the crab.
Next, we ordered Thai chicken feet salad @ RM16.
Grouper fish chunks in clear Tom Yam soup @ RM45.
Total cost of lunch: RM161.50. The lady boss waived the 50 cents.
Thanks to my sis for this delicious treat.
Aloe vera flower from my garden.
~~~~~
No home cooked dinner for us.
Hubby bought 20 skewers of chicken satay (grilled chicken on skewers) from a nearby kampung. The satay costs 0.70 cents per skewers.
The seller is generous with the peanut sauce. There is some leftover sauce which I kept in the fridge to dip with our home grown cucumbers.
Hubby bought some boiled compressed rice (nasi impit), The cucumber and onions are given free.
Dinner for 2 @ RM14 (approx 3usd)
Cockscomb flower from self-propagation. It was found sharing a pot with a yellow Croton plant in front of my house.
And these men of faith, though they trusted God and
won his approval, none of them received all
that God had promised them; for God wanted them to wait and
share the even better rewards that were prepared for us.
Yum! Crab glass noodle looks fantastic
ReplyDeleteI love crabs and I love glass noodle. Yums.
DeleteI have not heard os a Myna Bird in ages. I think they are very good at copying sounds?
ReplyDeleteYes, they can be noisy.
DeleteLove the (life) birds.
ReplyDeleteChicken feet for breakfast... or anytime... oh-oh, LOL.
Great you meet your Sis so often!
Even when we visited my Bro it was all hectic, hectic, bye...
Oh! I never saw an Aloe vera flower!
I´d be in for the chicken satay!!! Hmmm, looks yummy! And peanut sauce. We have a glass of peanut butter, tastes awful on bread, but maybe one can cook with it?
You have such nice flowers! To a yummy, great day!
Thank you, Iris. Have a great weekend.
Deletechicken satay! 70 cents per stick is quite cheap. Here, satay Kajang already costs RM1.20 or 1.30 per stick.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the cheapest around here. Usually it is 90 cents to RM1 elsewhere.
DeleteLots of yummy food! Have a great day!
DeleteWow for the crab noodle!! RM99!!
ReplyDeleteSatay for dinner sounds good. My kids would enjoy that.
Thank you, Rose. This is not the first time we had satay for dinner. Yums.
DeleteThe satay is so so so cheap!!! Here, it is RM1.00 each. Lamb and beef will cost more, RM1.20-1.50, I think. Seldom have satay here - the Malay stalls open so late, after 7, and we would have had our dinner already, around 6 p.m.
ReplyDeleteTrue, the stalls open quite late. If we want satay for dinner, we will go out to buy around 7pm.
DeleteCrab and the satay!! my mouth is watering :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. Both are my favourites.
DeleteBelos pratos deliciosos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
Yes, let us follow each other. Thank you.
DeleteThank you Nancy for sharing about your meal with your sisters. The Crab Glass Noodle, for the soup - is clear soup or tomyam soup? The Tom Yam Soup may be too spicy for me. The Thai Chicken Feet Salad, my mother would love to eat that.
ReplyDeleteThe crab glass noodle is neither. It has a little gravy.
DeleteI never say glass noodles before. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Glass noodle is also known as mung bean noodle or transparent noodle.
DeleteSo many good foods, and pretty flowers!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi.
DeleteThose skewers and sauce look great. I had glass noodles for the first time at a place here in Tulsa a few months ago. Your food always looks tasty.
