It was a cloudy morning. No morning walk on this particular morning because we had breakfast date with our friends.
Morning sky at 6:40am.
7:15am
Dark cloud looming over us - 7:20am.
Driving out to our friends' house.
~~~~~
We planned to have beef noodle for breakfast but found the place closed after driving all the way to Bercham. So, our next venue option was Kedai Kopi Tasek Indra, also in Bercham.
We wanted to order fish noodle but the stall was closed. So, our next option was "yue po fun or confinement noodle", which is ginger egg omelette cooked in wine soup. I requested for mee suah noodle. The ladies had "yue po fun", while the men had HK chee cheong fun, fried noodle and curry noodle.
Tomato from my garden.
The current batch of tomatoes didn't turn out well probably due to the rainy season. Some had worms, while the skin of others split open.
~~~~~
Chicken wine soup is great for rainy season.
I soaked some wood fungus and then cut into strips. I removed the skin from 2 chicken legs. I cut the chicken legs into 2 pieces. Cut old ginger into strips. Stir fry ginger strips in a little oil and when turning light brown, I added some sesame oil. I pour in enough water for 2 bowls of soup. When it started to boil, I add in the wood fungus. Let it simmer till the wood fungus is soften, then I add in the chicken pieces, soaked goji berries and red dates. Simmer until the chicken is cooked, add in salt to taste.
Blanched some green vegetable and scoop some garlic oil and soy sauce over the vegetable.
Chicken wine soup and vegetable for dinner.
(No rice, no noodle dinner).
We received 4 buns from our neighbour. 2 kaya buns in the shape of peach and 2 plain buns in the shape of tortoise. The buns were very soft and fluffy. Our neighbour ordered these buns fresh from their friend's cake shop and not those from the temple. Devotees will buy and offer these buns for prayer during the nine emperor gods festival.
