Dry Curry Noodles At Kedai Kopi Yee Fatt, Ipoh

This was a Sunday morning. We were early and decided to have breakfast before going to church.

I suggested dry curry noodle at Kedai Kopi Yee Fatt.

We were one of the early customers. Plenty of empty tables.

Only a few tables were occupied.

Halfway through our breakfast, the place was filled up.

Hubby ordered a cup of unsweetened black coffee.

I didn't order any drink because I had plain water in the car.

We ordered dry curry noodles, with thick curry gravy.

(our preferred noodle, chicken curry and bbq pork)

When we reached home after church, our neighbour was waiting for us with the above for our lunch.

She bought for us a packet of nasi lemak, 2 pieces of yam cake, and....

2 packets of sweet porridge (bubur chacha).

Good thing we decided to return home straight from church.

A pair of garden snails.

At one time, I used to have problem with garden snails in my garden. They will eat up all the leafy vegetables and tiny seedlings. Good thing, I no longer have this problem.

Dim Sum Breakfast & Chicken Varuval For Dinner

Every morning, as we start out on our morning walk, one of us will ask the other what we would like to eat for breakfast. For this particular morning, hubby wanted to eat steamed big bun or "tai pau". 

So, after our morning walk, we walked over to the dim sum restaurant near our house to buy "tai pau" and a few more items.

Steamed big bun or "tai pau" cut into halves for sharing.

I will take the half with the hard boiled egg.

I also bought fried prawn dumplings and a baked bbq bun.

I like varieties, so I bought a "nam yee pau" or steamed bun with fermented red bean curd pork belly filling.

Home grown okras or ladies fingers from my garden for dinner.

First time trying to cook chicken varuval (my own version) with whatever spices I have available. It taste good with white rice or Indian bread (capati).

Blanched beansprout, home grown Chinese chives and okra from my garden.

Dinner for 2 people on a cool evening.

I spotted these 2 garden snails on the roadside on one of our morning walk.

Simple One Dish Home Cooked Dinner For Two

Here is another home cooked meal to clear the fridge. I bought a packet of tau pau or packed bean curd sheet and it has been kept in the freezer. The night before, I thawed the packet of tau pau in the lower shelf of the fridge so that I can use it to cook for dinner.

 I separated the pieces of tau pau and cut into square pieces like the above. Using a non-stick frying pan, I pan fried the tau pau with a little oil over medium flame.

 I took out another tub of pre-cooked stewed pig's leg with mushrooms and sea cucumber from the fridge and re-heated it together with the fried tau pau.

 A friend gave the above packet of dried noodle for hubby to try.

 I cooked the dried noodle in boiling water and used only half the portion of seasoning provided. Hubby ate the noodle with the stewed pig's leg, mushrooms and sea cucumber dish. No noodle for me because I was happy to clear off the rest of the stewed dish without any wastage.

3 different varieties of hibiscus from my garden.

They are now flowering non-stop after being exposed to full sunlight.

 Talipariti or Sea Hibiscus bearing flower buds after being barren for a long time.

Saturday's Critters - Japanese Carps & Garden Snail.

The photos in today's post were taken on the same day as the ones of our furry friends which I have posted last Saturday. You can click here if you wish to see the cute furry friends. We were visiting our friends and before we entered their house, we went straight to their fish pond. The fish pond is just beside their house. The photos are not very clearly because it is not easy when the fishes are always on the move.

A pregnant carp going to lay eggs any time now.

Am I seeing a double vision?

The Japanese Carp is a giant fish, compared to the tiny Guppies.

This brought to my mind a verse from the bible:

"What are we getting into? Our brothers who spied

out the land have frightened us with their report.

They say that the people of the land are tall and powerful,

and that the walls of their cities rise high into the sky!

They have even seen giants there - the descendants of the Anakim!"

Thanks to the watchful eyes of our friend, we found this garden snail high up on the Plumbago plant.

Dinner With Friends At Kedai Makan Tuck Kee, Ipoh.

Our dinner date for this particular evening was at 6.30 pm and the place was at Kedai Makan Tuck Kee, Jalan Theatre, Ipoh. We couldn't park along that road because there were heavy machinery and road barricades blocking the way. We then took a big round to find parking at another road and walked to Kedai Makan Tuck Kee,

This is the reason for the road blockage.

The ground was still wet from the rain.

There was a beautiful rainbow over Ipoh city.

I was seated facing this cute painting and out came my smartphone and "click!"

Another "click" on my right just before the food was brought to our table.

Sambal chili for dipping.

We started with blanched or boiled octopus. Best eaten with sambal chili.

Followed by Stewed Chicken Feet. Also best eaten with sambal chili.

A big bowl of flat rice noodle with thick gravy. We called it "wat tan hor".

Stir fried mixed noodles - wet version (beehoon & koay teow).

Stir fry yee mee, (ready deep fried noodle).

Stir fried big, fat noodle.

By the time we finished our dinner, it was about 7 pm.

It was a weekday and service was fast!

It was still bright after our dinner, I took another snapshot before walking to our car. Looking forward to see the completed work.

And as we live with Christ, our love grows more perfect and complete;

so we will not be ashamed and embarrassed at the day of judgment,

but can face him with confidence and joy because he loves us

and we love him too.
