Vegetarian Lunch & Indian Food Dinner

It was a Thursday and we accompanied our friends to a vegetarian lunch. I mentioned a place that my sister-in-law used to patronize to my friend. Our friends haven't been there and they were keen to taste the food there. This vegetarian restaurant is Qi Fu Healthy Park Vegetarian, opposite Aeon Kinta City.

Our friends ordered the following items.

Fried Noodle (Indian style)
Wat tan hor (flat rice noodle with thick egg gravy)
Fried rice, can't remember the name of this dish.
Mixed vegetable in fermented bean curd (nam yue).
Crispy deep fried vegetarian goose.
Crispy deep fried spring rolls.
After lunch, we parted with our friends and planned to meet up for dinner again in Ipoh old town at Restoran Old Town Capati, Jalan Bandar Timah.
This is my first time eating in this place.
Fried rice vermicelli
Deep fried vadai
2 sets of chapati
1 set dosa
Chicken curry.
The above dinner was for 4 people.

Some people like to make cutting remarks,
but the words of the wise soothe and heal.

Chee Cheong Fun Breakfast & Indian Food For Dinner

For the past weeks, we have been having breakfast at the nearby shops. We usually walk, stop to have breakfast at one of the regular coffee shops, and than walk back home. But for this particular morning, hubby decided to go elsewhere for breakfast.

7:40 am - on the way to Canning Garden.
While hubby drove, I took snapshots.
Taking snapshots from a moving car is not easy. Most of the times, the pictures turned out blurry and have to be discarded.
Observing the SOP of MCO such as registering of names, contact numbers or scanning of QR code, and keeping our physical distancing from one another.
2 plates of ccf & 2 glasses of Chinese tea.
I had small portion while hubby had the big portion of ccf.
Waiting for the crunchy bean curd sheet to be brought to our table.
My breakfast: A plate of chee cheong fun (ccf) served with garlic oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds and crispy fried onion plus 1 piece of crunchy deep fried bean curd sheet.
~~~~~
Cockscomb flowers from my garden.
These are self-propagating plants.
I only planted cockscomb once. When the plant is old, I pulled out the old plant. At its own timing, many tiny plants will appear at and around the same spot.
A few generations of Cockscomb has come and go.
~~~~~
Simple eat out dinner.
We were still full from the Indian curry rice lunch we shared. So instead of cooking, we eat out at our regular coffee shop.
Hubby had a piece of chapati with chicken curry and a glass of Chinese tea.
I had a piece of vadai with chutney and a glass of Chinese tea.
Found this butterfly fluttering under our porch area. These are the best that I can managed because it was never still for long.

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim.

What We Ate On 64th Day MCO

I woke up yesterday morning about 5:00 am. I did a bit of reading and prayer, and followed by 30 minutes of walking exercise at home. After that hubby and I went for our morning walk outside our house.
Beautiful sunrise at 6:57 am.
Sunrise at 7:00 am.
 Morning sky at 7:10 am.
~~~~~
We went out in one car to buy breakfast from our regular coffee shop.
 Fish noodle with shaoxing wine.
This is the 2nd time we had fish noodle this week.
 Side order: 2 pieces of tofu cake and 2 bean curd rolls.
As usual, we ordered 1 pax to be shared by 2 people.
~~~~~
Lunch for 2 people
Freshly fried: 2 masala vadai, 2 medu vadai and 1 fried taro.
~~~~~
It was about 5:00 pm and I was in front of my PC when suddenly there was a very loud thunder. I quickly shut off my PC and unplugged all my electrical appliances. Surprisingly, at that time the sky was bright with no sign of rain. About 15 to 20 minutes later, there was a freak storm consisting of heavy rain, strong wind, thunder, lightning, and hailstones, all happening at the same time.
A friend took this snapshot of the hailstones she collected and forwarded to me. The hailstones in our area were about the same size that she had in her hand.
~~~~~
Easy to prepare dinner.
This is the 2nd salted chicken given by my neighbour. To heat up the chicken, I steamed it. Hubby and I had half a chicken each.
 I cooked home grown snake beans with the remaining stinky beans (petai) with a bit of sambal paste.
 Our dinner without any rice.
I cut 1 papaya (given by my neighbour) into 2 portion.
1 portion I kept in the fridge.
The other portion to be shared by hubby and I.
Nice decoration at the Gopeng Gaharu Tea Valley.
This snapshot was taken in Sept, 2019.

He placed springs in the valleys
and streams that gush from the mountains.
They give water for all the animals to drink.
There the wild donkeys quench their thirst,
and the birds nest beside the streams and
sing among the branches of the trees.

Steamed Spicy Sour Prawns For Dinner

I woke up at about 4:30 am, went to the washroom and went back to sleep. I overslept and woke up about 7:00 am. I was just in time to take a snapshot of the sunrise on the morning of 58th day MCO.
Sunrise at 7:12 am
~~~~~
Hubby and I drove out to buy breakfast. Our favourite pan mee stall was closed so we went to another stall.
Breakfast for 2 people.
Hubby's breakfast
Flat rice + yellow noodle (koay teow + mee) with minced pork and pork slices (soup version).
My breakfast
Flat rice noodle (koay teow) with stewed pork knuckle (dry version).
~~~~~
Healthy snack
Guava pickle with salted plum (assam boi).
A friend gave me this guava which I cut it into slices. Using a scissor, I cut the salted plum into small pieces. I mixed the guava slices and salted plum pieces together with the seeds. The guava pickle can be eaten immediately. I enjoy munching on this healthy and crunchy lip-smacking snack.
I bought a few different varieties of mango from the supermarket.
The above 3 mangoes smell very nice but have to wait for it to ripen.
The above mangoes have to be kept for a few days before they are ripe enough to be eaten. I was impatient and I took 2 mangoes to cut.
We each had a plate of cut mangoes. The mangoes were sweet but not sweet enough.
If I had waited 2 more days, the mangoes would have been sweeter.
~~~~~
Lunch
I had 2 pieces of bread for lunch. 1 pieces spread with peanut walnut butter and 2nd piece with kaya.
Hubby went out on his motorbike and came back with a packet of ice cendol and 3 pieces of fried stuff.
Hubby bought 1 piece fried taro dipped in batter and 2 pieces vadai (Indian dhal bean snack). He bought the fried taro for me not knowing that I had taken 2 pieces of bread. Seeing that the fried taro is thin, nice and crunchy I couldn't resist and ate it.
So happy to see my Caladium plant growing again. The colour is rare and exotic. A few times it just died and then reappear again after some time. Hope this time it will not disappear but will grow healthily.
Talking about mangoes, my neighbour came back from work and pass me the above mangoes.
I have to avoid snacks such as hard nuts because of weak gums and teeth, so now I look for snacks that are easier to munch like the above potato chips.
Dinner
I can't remember where I bought this spicy sour steamed fish paste. I had to use it before it expired. I don't have fish, so I used prawns.
I lined the steaming stainless steel plate with ladies fingers, cut pineapples and prawns.  before spreading the paste over the prawns.
I steamed it over high heat for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Very appetizing spicy and sour steamed prawns dish.
One dish dinner for 2 people.
Very delicious and satisfying dinner.
Evening sky at 6:50 pm.
O LORD, I am calling to you. Please hurry!
Listen when I cry to you for help!
Accept my prayer as incense offered to you,
and my upraised hands as an evening offering.
